Show 2B Sun Advocate Price, Utah Tuesday April 2, 2002 Carbon Dinos tennis team swinging strong Women's bowling tournament draws to an end The season is well underway far the Carbon High tennis team. The team currently stands at three wins versus two losses. In the first match. Carbon traveled to SL George, and took on last yean 3A state champions, the Dixie Ftyers. The Dinos lost that match 5-- The experience allowed the team tocompete against a top ranked team and gave the Dinos the experience needed to compete far a state title. The second scheduled match was held against Snow Canyon. Unfortunately for the Dinos, the match was snowed out before it was completed. Before the snow arrived however, Matt King won his match at number one singles Haiber finished on top 6--4, 6-- 3. This match came down to the Wfe-satc- h, 4--1. 7--6. 6--3, Chris Egvert in number two Haiber also defeated his opponent in the number two singles, 6-- 4, 7--5. At number three singles, Beau Christensen lost at 0-- 2-In doubles, Maynes and Sean Vfatkins won a tmgh three set match, 6-- 4-- 7-- At number two doubles, the team of Andrew Christensen and Spillman won a three set match. Afterasucoessfu! series against Wasatch, the Dinas then travelled to Moab. The Dino team once again finished strong, defeating Grand High 5-... The first region match of the season was held March 26 in LehL Although Lehi is new to region eight, and the teams quality of play was unknown, Lehi was quite 6, 3, In the Dinos third match ofthe season, the team travelled to Uintah for a match against the Utes.
