Show rww I I Sun Advocate Price, Utah Thursday March 21 , 2002 7A State bowling tournament continues at local lanes The Utah Womens Bowling Association continues to compete in its annual state tournament. The tournament has been taking place for the past several weeks at the local bowling alleys, and will continue throughout the month of March. The final rounds will be held Easterwcckcnd. Women from across the state have traveled to compete in the toumament which has been a huge success. The women have been competing in several categories including teams, singles, and doubles. The public is welcome to come out and watch the best lady bowlers in the state in action. The tournament will continue this weekend with the doubles and singles rounds being held at the Country Lanes in Carbonvillc, and the team competition will take dace at the Gateway Lancs in Helper. The scores and standing from last weekend are listed below. The top five teams in each category are listed, along with the final points. The Utah Jazz hosted the regional two ball competitions around the state last weekend. Carbon County residents had to compete in Lchi. The Castle Country was represented very well at the competition. Megan . ' - fof r4 c I i, ' Tubbs and Amber Dcmaris won the eight and nineycarold division giving them an opportunity to compete in the finals held at the Delta Center in Salt Lake City on March 28. Tibbs and Dcmaris finished first when Carbon County Recreation held the local competition at Carbon High on February 2. By winning their division, the girls qualified for the regional competition held in Lchi. The tandem was the last to shoot at the regional competition. They scored 12 points combined to win.
