There still remains the contention that President Franklin 1). Roosevelt, Winston Churchill, and even U.S. authorities Adolph Hitler knew the attack was coming, but the did not warn Admiral Kimmel on Oahu of this impending event so that he could save some of his warships. Let the historians continue work on the paper trail while we consider a couple of factors. Those that were on Oahu will never forget the of fallexperience, while the rest of us must rely on our imaginations and Pearl ing bombs on December 7. Two movies. Torn, Tora, Tora but with due Hnrhor, can reinforce our imaginations Hollywood-style- , to respect to Oahu survivors perhaps after 61 years it is time relegate that event to the dust bin of history. Of the many places I have lived, I still consider San Juan County MonticelloLaSalKastland to be home, still know and love the country-th- e red rocks, the canyons, the Pinon and Juniper, the trails, and that great red dirt; love the people, love the heritage and traditions, and love the kids, you know the guys like you and the Cave Guy, and Anna, and Huhha? From time to time, off in the distance, just right over there yep; I can faintly hear muffled whispers, or through the blue haze I see the outline of hunters clad in orange and red moving slowly across the ridge, or - see and hear th clammer of the hurried exchange between the skiiers and tin cyclists at the triathlon. Perhaps the most clear to me, are memories of the falling snow, as the large full flakes drift peacefully down blanketing the juniper and pinon and creating a stillness and quietness that allows one to hear hisher very thoughts; and memories of morning runs through fields of king grass, under a fence, through the oaks, or possibly up the South ('reek Road towards the reservoir and off into the wild blue; and I remember sitting around - on the mats, or a bench or the field or mavhe even a school bus - and talking about all the great possibilities, tin exciting conquests to be made, and what ever it was we were going to (In and how and when. Yes, Life was and is good and it is still a great day to be alive. I still sing the Blue Mountain" song when I am out riding my bike in the hills. Oh, it feels good and still rings true, Blue Mountain with Horsehead on your side, you have won my love to keep. Happy Trails and God Bless. Joe Wolfe Davis jut Toured San Juan Hospital E-M- sinews sanjuan.net Dear Kditor, Recently I had an opportunity to take a tour of the San Juan Hospital in Monticello along with 0 other people. We were guided by Lyman Duncan through the hospital and given information as to the direction that the Hospital Management is trying to go. 1 am glad that I took the opportunity to have the tour because of the many new and exciting things that they are doing. I have ahvays felt a little apprehensive about the Hospital because we always needed funds to get it out of a deficit. And at the same time it seemed that we transferred out as many patients as possible. I have always felt that we had to do things that would keep patients in our hospital to make it financially secure. I believe in the business adage that you need to spend money to make money, but to spend money to cover a deficit does not correct the problem. Though covering the deficit is necessary it, in and of itself does not correct the problem. What I have learned from the tour is that Capitol Improvements being requested and ones that have already taken place are funds spent that will make money for the San Juan County Health Care. This will make improvements to all of the County Health ventures. 2 Die Another ) Dag Call for times SSBil (pg-1-3) 630 Closed Sunday 1335:58730271 Still considers San Juan to be home 'The 830 m Mark E. The alliances that have been made with other Hospitals are invaluable and put our Hospital in an excellent position for future growth and prosperity. As a one who is involved in a business in our County I am impressed with the Management of the hospital. A wise choice was made with the hiring of the Management Team they have in place. If the people in the County do not want to support them I would be happy to have them work for me in our business. They are the quality of employees that make a company successful. We live in a great part of the country with a lot of diversity. It never ceases to amaze me at the quality of people that we have here in San Juan County.
