Marc Perry, the 29 year old driver from Salt Lake City, stopped near Cortez, Colorado, when authorities at a weigh station ordered him off the road because of irregularities 18-whe- el in his drivers vehicle log book. The man jumped in the vehicle and headed for home, ig- noring all attempts to have him stop. Speeds reached up to 80 miles an hour for the chase, which when from Cortez all the way through Monticello and then all the way to Moab. The driver was carrying a load of liquid chlorine bleach and had his front tires flat tened with spikes. Flattened front tires because of spikes did not stop the truck as the driver continued to drive on the tire rims for several miles, and had a police escort through Moab. At a deserted stretch of road near Bar M Chuckwagon north of Moab, a law enforcement official pulled alongside the truck and fired into the brake lines, causing the brakes on the truck to lock up and stop. The driver still would not cooperate. He locked his windows and officers had to break the window in order to force him out. Perry has been charged with a number of offenses, including felony offenses for allegedly trying to force law enforcement officials off the road. He has been booked into San Juan County Jail. ap 6b -- LEX REALTY - SALES RENTALS - TITLE INSURANCE PROPERTY MANAGEMENT 435-587-2- FOR M0NT1CE11D, Holli F.
