First of all Councilman Steele, you were one of the instigators of the electric system lawsuit and now you are whining about all the money it is costing the city. You cant have it both ways. A referendum vote is not a way of making a decision on this problem because there is no way the electorate can he informed on the subject. We do not have access to the technical and financial information that has lieen developed by the city and Empire Electric through all of the meetings that have transpired leading to the decision for the City to purchase the electric system. If we had to vote now we would have to base our votes on the misinformation and emotional responses we have heard up to this point. Council persons and the Mayor's office are elected by us to do our citys business so that informed decisions can be made. If any council members cannot make an informed decision without a public vote they should resign and let us elect someone who can do the job. Gray Wangelin Monticello What is purpose of Commission? Is it possible that the San Juan Record could provide its readers specific or general reminders of the qualifications, duties and commitments required of prnsjiectivr or current county commissioners so that those directly influenced and affected by this year's election outcome may have hope of making educated choices when marking their bal- Wed & kusif Novemkeb 7 & 8 8:00 fim Sweet Jlame Alabama Sat, Mom, 6:00 pm flowak ue - Mov 8, 9, 11 12. & lUe Vecji- - alel (g PG) -- Oflire Min,i'jni TERRY CRAMER Paste up Ad Design Office Assistant PAT RICHARDSON ProofrearJer DAWN BOYLE Writers NELL DALTON MAXINE DEETER MARY LOU HOGGARD LEO PLATERO GARY TORRES TERRI WINDER lots?
