Moab - One percent health sales tax on ballot Kanab - To continue the Kane County Hospitals one percent sales tax or not - that will be the question before voters in the November 5 General Election. The one percent sales tax was first enacted in 1993, the result of a special bill passed by the Utah State Legislature. A special election was held and voters passed the one percent sales tax resoundingly. The sales tax concept was a welcome one, since Kane County was having to subsidize the hospital. Like most rural hospitals, budget woes were nothing new. The high cost of providing quality medical care, coupled with a sluggish economy and stingy government providers made funding the hospital a tall order. The new hospital was built using 75 percent of the one percent sales tax collected to fund construction. The remaining 25 percent was used to subsidize daily operations. Since the new hospital is fully completed, tax opponents pre asking why the entire tax is still needed. The Health Care Board made the decision and voted unanimously to continue the sales tax, which requires voter approval. crossword puzzle. And "anywaze" I forget things faster than I learn them. In fact, I dont really know why I should study at all. I am going to sleep after I go to the movie and by morning what- ever I did learn will no longer be anywhere near my brain... probably sagging down around my hips and behind where everything else has shifted. These college kids up here are young. I am not exactly sure how young, but I know I am much older because they keep calling me "Mister". Just today I am sitting at a professor. a compliment, you know, that I look smart. But I think they just thought I looked old. Because I am up here for a class I have to study, which makes my brain hurt. It feels like when you eat ice cream too fast and you get brain freeze. My brain is like an old com- puter with an old processor, not enough ram, my disks are floppy, and my mouse is more like a fat rat eating cheese and I just cant run some programs, The old computer just locks up and crashes. Thats what I am doing when I am taking a nap, I am rebooting the system. Since I am up here becoming edu-sleepi- and John Stockton gym shorts. Girl: "Oh you need someone to help you.. .blink your eyes if that is yes." Me. "Blink Blink Blink" My eyes are bulging out, the vein on my neck is protruding. She lifts the weight off my chest with one hand and smiles. My first day is kind of intimidating, I look out of place. But, I jump right in and put some weights on the bench press. I look around and see what erybody else is putting on for an estimate. This is not exactly a good idea, but wasnt apparent at the time. I do a few stretchies and jumping jacks just to get the ol ticker pumping some. I think I look pretty sharp with hey, see ya round tomorrow maybe, eh?" I hurry down the hall around the corner and collapse on the ground and moan. Moaning is something I am quite good at. Sometimes I practice moaning, just to make sure that if the occasion warrants I can moan. This seems like a great time to moan. Moooaaaannnnl!
