Show "THE ZEFHYROCTOBER 1994 PAGE 10 'I WHAT DOES MOAB THINK? ' fy V. . d THIS MONTH'S QUESTION: Do you believe term limitations should be imposed on U.S. President to one Congressman and Senators? Also , what do you think of the idea of limiting the six year term? t Colleen Cooper "1 think people should have the choice to pick who they want Term limitations would take away their choice. Gut as for the President I would like to term." see them run for one Lois Nelson "Yes, I believe there should be term limitations. I believe that after a while, your thinking processes just aren't that clear. As for the president, I think they should leave it at two terms max." six-ye- ar Peter Haney "I don't know. It's a split situation, because in some ways, if someone is doing a good job and you want your Dave Sakrison "Yes, I am in favor of it, but only as a national amendment, not on a state by state basis." incumbent in there, that would be OK. But at the same time, the way the system is set up, everything is built on seniority only and it doesn't matter if you're a good congressman or not until you've been there 30 years. As far as the president, I don't know there either. A good political answer." Marilee Francis "I heard this morning on a man that didn't believe in term limitations, but believed they were taking effect on their own because either the politicians did not want to run because the game out there is getting pretty nasty. And two, the people don't want them to be in there over and over, so they're just not voting for them and making their own choices for change." C-Sp- Donna Jordan "I think that congressman should be able to run as long as they want, because we need their expertise and I believe that the president should be allowed to run for just one term, and not have to worry about being an six-ye- ar elected twice." SUBJECT: EDUCATION PHYLLIS The State treats all schools like theyre the same. Rural schools cost more per student to run. Special education is a bigger burden for rural schools. Rural students dont have the resources urban children do. Isnt it about time the state dealt with educational realities instead of trying to fit every school district into the same mold? Funding should be on the basis of need! Isnt it about time we had a Representative with some new ideas; with some gumption? 0 m'm - t0 V FRANKEL- - YOUNG i f FOR STATE REPRESENTATIVE DISTRICT1 71 For our children's future ' . ., ' V t i i t . |
