Show JUNGLE BALL was the story of the game against North Summit on December 6. There were 69 fouls called dur. ing this rough ball game. Carter of 88 percent to South Richs 61 percent, Hie varsity did not get off to a start like the J.V. team, The Dugway. Mustangs went on the .road to Ran- dolph, Utah to play South Rich in basketball. The game was played last Friday night, December 7. The starters for the J.V. team were Gus Ma- gann and Ron Wilson at for- ward, Keith Warren and Scott Houle at guard, and Dana Gardner at center. The Mustangs got off to a start against South really hitting the jumpers in the first good Rich, Gus was and continued to hit the outside jumper all night long. Ron and Dana also con- - tributed to the scoring as well as helping with the of-fensive and the defensive boards. The score at the end of the first quarter was 22 to 8 in favor of the Mustangs. Dugway continued to play tight defense throughout the second quarter and at the end of the second quarter the Mustangs were holding, on to a 34 to 15 lead going into the locker room for half time. The Mustangs came out in the third quarter with the same intensity that they had in the first half. They contin- ued to play the kind of de- fense they are known for. The Mustangs held South points in the third quarter. The score at the end of the third quarter Rich to only 10 was 47 to 25. The Mustangs kept right like they played the prior three quarters. The final score was 62 to 40. Gus Magann was the leading scorer for the Mustangs with on playing 26 points, 11. field goals and free throws. The Mustangs shot a free throw percentage 4 - they struggled to keep up with South Rich. The game was a see saw battle to maintain the lead. The starters for the varsity were Darin Buys at guard, Tony Moe at point, Gary Smith at center, Robert Argyle and Rob Solomon at forward, The Mustangs scored 15 points in the first quarter, Robert Argyle was the ing scorer at the end of the first quarter with 8 points, The Mustangs came out and were only able to score 11 points in the second quarter. The Mustangs score at the end of the first half was 25. The main reason the Mustangs were struggling was their foul shooting in the first half. The Mustangs missed 7 out of 1 1 foul shots. Dugway came out in the second half and played better than they did in the first half. The score at the end of the third quarter was 41.
