No child care facilities at the dental clinic -ts- -rawt' Once again the concurrent seasons of Passover and Easter have. arrived to focus our attention on the meaning and relevance of the Jewish and Christiaif faiths; ; - " ' : Jews the world over are grateful for the freedom from bondage of the ancient children of Israel. Their celebrations of Passover are underlined with prayerful efforts for the liberty of those still not completely free. The story of the exodus, from Egypt is an inspiration and a reminder to all that our hearts, minds, and strengths must be dedicated to the cause of freedom and the moral law. He is not here; for He is risen. With the arrival of another glorious Easter, we are heartened by the diving revelation of eternal love and hope which the great event of this holy day brings. Alleluias will once again peal from chapel bells, and our. hearts will be filled with joy, for the Resurrection of Christ is a legacy of new life, new hope, and new purpose. Our faith in the redeeming love of God is renewed, and peace and gladness caldm the troubled hearts of men and women with perfect confidence in life immortal. Child Care Center needs your help The Easter and Passover Season is a time of rejoicing for Christians and jews around the world. It is a time of reflection and thankfulness tor the blessings that we have received and a time to take stock of who and where we are. It is a time to think of those who so long ago suffered and strove that mankind might not only live free, but of the bonds of death and sin as well. Passover brings to mind the t niggles of Moses to free his people from the bonds of the Pharaoh, of Gods everlasting power and glory, when through His will he broke the yoke of slavery that Egypt had burdened the Jews with. We reflect on sacrifice that the Lord himself made, suffering that his only begotten Son should suffer and die, that in Christs death He purged us all of our sins and in His resurrection He broke the bonds of death for mankind, forever? It is in memory of these sacred, historic sacrifices and trials that we pause at this season of the year to remember, reflect and give thanks for the blessings we have been given. Mrs. Carruth and I offer our hopes that the blessings and sacredness of this season will bring each and every family a bit closer together as we celebrate this occasion. . Ronald Reagan cited the tradition of volunteerism begun by the nations founders: Over the two hundred years ago, the men and women who founded America began a tradition that continues in our great country today. That spirit of giving freely to ones neighbor is the wellspring of compassion underlying the essential decency of American life. America has always shared the democratic vision that great deeds spring from the initiative of the individual and. the people. The strength and success of our system in many ways stem from the power of voluntary association of citizens to address community and national problems. National Volunteer Week provides heightened awareness of the substantial contributions citizen volunteers make toward solving public problems through private action. The establishment this year of the presidents-volunteeaction awards will bring deserved recognition to what can be accomplished by voluntary action.
