celebrate her 85lh birthday Fcm was bom Aug 22 daughter of Alma and Mclva Shaffer Laonhardt the second in a family of eight children Fern experienced the duties of a mother early as her mother passed away when she was 17 years old and there were four siblings younger than her for whom she had to assume duties of a mother for a time These younger siblings feel ' greatly indebted to her On Feb 5 1938 she married Lcland Jones The marriage was later solemnized in the Logan Temple They were blessed with three daughters Karren Fullmer Utahna Nielson and Pauline Weiner Lcland passed away in 1933 the result of a tractor automobile accident In 1939 she married Dail ' Sibbett adding Dail's two daughters Ann Evans and Jean Hoffman to the family Fern moved to Burley Idaho where she and Dail worked for 26 years before returning to Utah Hem has always loved ers and soon turned this love into a career After graduating from several floral design studios she opened Fern’s Flowers in Burley She had a special touch with wedding flowers which brought happiness to many brides Her creative touch was evident in the many arrangements which decorated homes in the area After selling her business she worked at Klink’s Floral in Burley for several years She is a member of the LDS Church and has served in 19 7 in Providence 1 Fem Sibbett Grace Page Turpin Maynard will celebrate her 80th birthday Sept 21 2002 Her family will honor her with an open house on Saturday Aug 24 from 3 to 7 pm at the home of Laity and Charlene Nelson 71 E 300 South Millville Utah Grace was bom Sept 21 1922 in Elsinore Utah to Russell and Della Page She was the third child of 1 1 children She married Charles Cecil Turpin on Sept 4 1940 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple They have five children: Gary and (Sandi) Turpin Houston Texas (Larry) and Charlene Nelson Millville Utah (Jay) and Sue Merritt Millville Utah (Earl) and Dianna Hansen Plain City Utah (Mark) and Jeanette Perkes Millville Utah Grace has 16 grandchildren and 27 Cecil passed away on April 9 1976 Grace married Earl Maynard of Tremonton on June 8 1981 He passed away Oct 14 1992 During her life Grace has had many opportunities to serve others with her taldnts Sewing decorating for ‘ many positions She was secretary of the primary for flf- teen years as well as a Sunday School teacher visiting teacher and recently worked on genealogical en extractions Early in her life she began keeping records for the Providence cemetery She has continued keeping records throughout her life filling ten volumes of fascinating history Fem enjoys her beautiful yard and flowers She continues to maintain her home and takes pride in keeping it attractive She cherishes the friends and neighbors she has had through the years She is grateful for the joy and happi-'nethey have added to her life She is a devoted mother and and grandmother who always remembers family birthdays and never forgets to send a card She especially enjoys visiting with her 14 grandchildren and 47 Grace Page Turpin Maynard the special interest dances and cooking — especially her famous butterscotch pies were among the many she excelled at She enjoys reading writing poetry genealogy watching favorite old-timovies playing Chinese checkers with her and children in the neighborhood Grace was honored two years ago by The Herald Journal as a featured “Good Neighbor” ' She is active in the LDS Crossword solution Church and has had numerous callings over the years She always served faithfully and went the second mile in all she was asked to do Grace has dedicated her life to her family She is loved for her-charit- and unselfishness We honor her as she continues to teach us by example about the challenges and joys in life ' Come help us celebrate her
