| Show DEMON KILLS FIVE PERSONS murderer armed with rifle knife and revolver shoots down people whom he never saw before san diego cal five persons ar dead and two others may die tha a man supposed to have been crazed by liquor running amuck in this city monday four of those killed met almost instant death the series of tragedies was committed by W P robinson whose business Is that of house cleaner and who Is widely known in this city and it that robinson was led to commit murder by the ravings of a mind crazed with drink about 8 clock robinson left his rooms and going to the apartment in the same building occupied by mrs emma stewart the landlady and her son william rapped for admission mrs stewart upon opening the door was shot through the head by robin son who had bevelled levelled level led a 38 caliber winchester robinson then entered the dining room where young stewart who bad been seated at breakfast wag lust rising from the table robinson attacked him immediate ly plunging a long knife into hia body lose above the heart the blade sinking deep into the chest and again into the abdomen at the second stab stewart sank to the floor with blood pouring from his body in a stream robinson then returned to bis rooms reloading his rifle and leaving his knife and apparently slipped a revolver into his pocket leaving hla rooms again he descended to the first floor one portion of which Is used aa a carpenter shop by II 11 W chase chase probably saw robinson enter but paid no attention to him for rob inson approached close to him and suddenly throwing up his rifle alred the bullet entering chase s breast close heart the third victim apparently died immediately from the carpenter shop robinson proceeded on his bicycle down fourth street for several blocks through the business section of the town with the rifle still in his hand he went directly to the house ot W II 11 dodd ridge internal revenue collector he left his wheel at the curb and ran up the steps to the front door carrying his rifle in one hand and the revolver in the other in response to his ring harry doddridge son of W II 11 dodd ridge opened the door robinson am mediately raised his revolver and at the crash young doddridge sank to the floor with a bullet just above the heart death followed before medical assistance could be summoned mrs doddridge the young mans mother hearing the shot and perhaps witnessing the tragedy ran screaming from the house robinson hearing the screams started through the house after the woman As she was crossing the yard the crazy man caught sight of her and alred the bullet striking her in the back she tell headlong upon her face in the yard W H doddridge who was in bed on the second floor when the commo alon began jumped or tell out of the window breaking the bones of his right hand and probably sustaining in injuries robinson searched the house for more people when he came to the room just vacated by doddridge be climbed upon the bed and placing his revolver to his temple alred a bullet which tore off the top of bis head there is no known reason tor think ing there bad been ill feeling between robinson and any of his victims col lector doddridge says he never even saw or heard of robinson before |
