Show ' r- 1- r-- 1 The Herald Journal Logan Utah Sunday April 6 2003 — C5 Anniversaries ’ Paid announcements Baileys’ Dances’ 50th 50th':: This beautiful and denial ? relationship begin 50 yean ago on April 17 1953 in die IxlDS’ftinpl& v To honor Homer and VaLoy Bailey and celebrate this occasion we invite family and V die lerwithi LDS Church house on the corner Of first east and third north on Saturday April 12 2003 from 5 to 6:30 pm for an informal open house Drop in and say hi and renew wonderful memories with diem Homer and VaLoy met while planning the wedding This must have inspired them for not too long afterwards they were planning their own wedding ' They started their married life in Gooding Idaho where Homer worked as a hired hand They eventually moved to Wellsville Utah where he commuted between home and Hill Air Force Base until his retirement Homer was always a hard worker and worked a variety of jobs gaining the respect admiration and friendship of those around him VaLoy as well as bong a tremendous support while Dad was working became a model wife and mother She worked hard raising four children keeping an immaculate home and provided an environment where everyone felt “at home” There’s hardly a person around these parts that hasn’t been touched by her compassionate service and welcome Parkers’ 50th ’ Homer and VaLoy Bailey ' smile Their children are very grateful for the wonderful home life they created and foe support and love they continue to give They enjoy spending time with their family and friends and serving others in their community They both have ' had mimemua chinch railing and continue to serve in their various church and temple assignments Having survived raising four boys they are now experiencing the joys of their posterity with 14 grandchildren and 7 Their children and spouses are: Mike and Carpi of Petersboro Utah Steve Briley of Salt Lake City Utah Jeff and Liliana of Bend Ore and son Russell Bailey You two deserve a Congressional Medal of Honor for putting up with us all these years so we would like to have this little celebration to say “Thanks for all you've done!” en Harold and Ruth Dance celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary on March 26 2003 Their family held a dinner to honor them They met while serving as Stake Activity Counselors and were married in the Logan LDS Temple and have resided in Logan ever since They are the proud parents of three children 14 grandchildren and four great grandsons Theirchildren are Debbie (Bob) Ellis of Providence Dixie D Werner of Bountiful and Brad (Tammy) Dance of Providence Harold was bom and raised in Blackfoot Idaho He is the third son of Willard A and Lula Wintle Dance He got polio at the age of three which kept him from partici- pating in sports he liked but he has loved following sports all his life He graduated from Blackfoot High where he was active in music and served as student body president He graduated from USU where he became well known as the manager of the first temporary Union Building and ran the concessions at foe ballgames He served an LDS mission in the New England States graduated from Harvard Business School then returned to Logan to manage the insurance department at Utah Mortgage Ruth was raised on a farm in Benson Utah around lots of cousin! She is foe fourth child of Melvin J and Audria Munk Ballard She graduated from North Cache and was active in student affairs She attended USU was employed : Harold and Ruth DaAce by PMA office Sears and the Logan LDS Temple She served an LDS mission in the Northern States and is currently serving at the temple They have both served their community and church well Harold was the first “Festival of Spring” and “Pioneer Days” chairman and served as ap ZDS Bishop twice Ruth has served in Stake Yo Womens’ twice and was first called in newly organized singles stake Harold and Ruth have had many opportunities to travel both in die US and Europe A recent highlight was to serve together in the Nauvoo Illinois IDS Mission Their children and 12 of their grandchildren have enjoyed historic trips to Boston with them ' They continue to host a family dinner every Sunday which the family appreciates very much We love you Mom and Dad Grandma and Grandpa Thanks for getting together and for being such wonderful examples to us!
