Show Page 4 —The Herald Journal Logan Utah Thursday October 28 1999 Obituaries Hannah Cannell Nowell PROVIDENCE Utah — Hannah Cannall Nowall 93 diad Oct 25 1999 surrounded by family She waa born In Smlthflald Utah on Nov 4 1906 to John and Elizabeth Cannall and grew up there working and enjoying life on her parent's farm Hannah was educated In Smith-fiel- d and Logan where she met and married Reynolds I Nowel on Aug 9 1928 in the Logan LDS Temple Ren's career took them to New York City and they lived most of their married life in New Jersey where they raised their family and then in Pennsylvania after Ren’s retirement Hannah enjoyed flowers and plants and was noted for her landscaping talents She was an excellent seamstress and was skilled in interior decoration and many crafts She and Ren enjoyed searching for and refinishing antiques These hobbies led to her opening and operating a successful gift and antique shop in New Jersey for many years She held numerous callings in the LDS church especially in Primary and Relief Society She and Ren served as temple workers in the Washington DC temple for seven years She is survived by her two daughters Dorothy (late Wallace) Olsen Providence Patricia and Jordan Tanner Provo a son James and Terri Nowell Pennsylvania sister Esther Uttledyke 14 grandchildren and 30 She was preceded in death by her husband parents three brothers three sisters and three grandchildren Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 am In the Providence 2nd Ward Chapel 300 S Main Providence Friends and family may can from 10 to 10:45 am Burial will be In the Smithfield City Cemetery Ella Blanchard Petersen NEWTON Utah — Ella Blanchard Petersen of Newton Utah daugh- nizations She also servad as a Stake Homemaking Leadar Ella was always a very compassionate person frequently attending to the needs of the sick or needy She loved music and sang In the Ward Choir for many years In har personal history she writes that at one point in her life she sang In the Logan Tabamada Choir under (he direction of a Professor Clark Her home was always open and she considered It essential to offer food to al who came there Ella was the mother of nine children: Elwin A Petersen (Jan) Dennis B Peterson Claude B Petersen Thomas (Vone) Petersen Betty Jean Magness (Richard) Carma Hillyard (Farrell) Margery Cantwell (Clair) Leon B Petersen (Glenna) and Dorothy Otteson (Howard) Ela was preceded in death by her husband Parley and sons Dannis Thomas and Leon as well as her daughter Betty Jean Magness EHa had 33 grandchildren 102 and 32 Two of her grandsons one and two also passed away previously All of Ella's posterity loved and revered her she had an uncanny way of remembering an their namee no matter how many there were Her ability to remember little details about each one was legendary in the family Funeral services will be held Saturday Oct 30 1999 at noon at the Newton 2nd Ward Chapel with Bishop Keith Larsen conducting Friends may call Saturday at the church from 9:30 to 11:30 am Burial wil be in the Newton Cemetery Services are under the direction of Nelson Funeral Home Leonora Jorgensen Wilde PRESTON Idaho — Leonora Jor Stalder gensen Wilde 77 former Grace Idaho resident died Tuesday Oct 26 1999 in Franklin the County Medical Center in Preston Idaho She was born May 2 1922 in Idaho the daughter of Goff and Martha Marie Berger Stalder She married Lear William Jorgensen April 30 1944 In Grace Idaho The marriage was so4em--nized In the Ogden Temple He died Aug 5’1977TShe marrlfsf Cloyd D Wilde May 25 1990 in the Logan Temple She was an LPN nurse and an excellent homemaker She enjoyed reading scrapbooks and family activities She kept a beautiful garden and flowers She had been a visiting teacher Sunday School secretary and worked in the extracMontpelier ter of Thomas Blanchard and Amelia Jane Davie bom May 8 18B8in Logan-Uta- h passed away on Monday 1999 incident to age at Logan Nursing Oct 25 Home EHa was the youngest of her parents' eight children and has been the sole survivor of the family for many years Sha married Parley Andrew Petersen on Feb 12 1920 the marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple Ella was educated in Logan schools and attended nursing school at the Budge Hospital before her marriage The things she learned there were of great value as she raised her large family She was active in many capacities in the LDS Church senring in the presidencies of Relief Society Primary and Young Women's orga- -
