sports lor lo participate in than just baseball such as tennis! The tennis team is like a club team according to Conch Curl Jenson It is a sport that is open lo anyone who would like lo play This is the only coed team in the CEU sports program and includes three women and eight men: Pepper Baxter Jamie Eddc Rochelle Huff Emery Haycock Kevin Birell Daren Fcrlcz Matt Nelson and Brent Cook However along with the team there are two team members from Korea: Hank Kim and Jayc Jung two members from Denmark: Martin Hansen and Martin Schorder and one player from France: Gcoffcry Bcaudin Most of these players have already had the experience of playing in high school so naturally Ihe will get to play but if you really want to play there is enough room on the team For those who play in collegiate athletics and are on scltolarships there are no scholarships or awards for playing tennis They play for experience and fun Jenson the tennis team has been involved in competitions the last three or four years They usually play the four junior colleges in the state during the season with two games on the road and two at home Coach Jenson says that this activity gives students a chance to participate in tennis They will host their first tournament at CEU against Salt Lake Community College April 21 at I pm on Ihe courts next to the wave pool They will play at least nine matches Jenson said three men singles three women singles one men doubles one women doubles and one mixed doubles |
