outstanding freshmen Frandscn Pntfkyd Nielsen outstanding sophomores and Pittman outstanding student Coulter a graduate of Alta High School was active in foren- sics as a freshman while Pritchard a graduate of Taylorsville High School participated in the yell leading and dance programs Frandsen a graduate of Carbon High School was active in ASCEU student government song leading dance and choir programs while Nielsen a graduate of Kearns High School served as sports editor of the Eagle newspaper yell leader assistant volleyball coach and participated in intramurals Pittman of Green River served as editor of the Eagle newspaper The outstanding students were nominated by faculty and judged on their overall grade point average and participation in campus activities Before die outstanding students were named Andrus named Julie Silson Nick Chavez Marlene Wells Mac Webster Scott Wardle Frank Felice and Paul Hendrickson were all finalists in the nomination process "These students are the and scholarship chairman for favorite student services d cm-an- ployce Other student choice awards included JunsicCoticn from Chapel Hill NC and Lara Frandscn from Price as the outstanding sopho- mores The female freshmen awards went to Trish Salisbury Emery and Moray Anderson Kearns while Kent Sorenson Salem was named outstanding male Honor cords and ASCEU officers Vice President Robert Torgcrson gave out the honor cords to those graduating with honors and high honors (350 to 40) with the cere Tami Davis a 1990 Carbon High School graduate and Brent Bill a graduate of Manilla High School in Dagget County both maintained a40 while earning an associates degree of science at CEU Davis served as the ASCEU financial secretary and was a member of the Phi Beta Lambda and was able to keep up on her studies as well "Don't ever fan behind in a class" she stated as her recipe for success Davis came to CEU because the scholarship offered to her by the college was very good "I like the small college atmoshere" she added She wiU be aliening Utah State University next year on an academic transfer scholarship good for one year tuition At USU she wiU earn a degree in accounting She hopes to obtain employment at a certified Public Accountant firm out of college to get a good start with her career Prior to attenting CEU BiUs served in the US Navy for 6 years where he learned good
