Show Volume 20 Co-E- d CARBON COLLEGE PRICE UTAH FRIDAY APRIL 8 1955 Elks Announce Winners Day Plans Off Are Under Way Local Scholarships Four Carbon and Emery county youths have been selected to share in the $300 scholarship contest sponsored by the Price Lodge No 1550 Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks it has been announced by Silas Anderson the lodge's scholarship chairman Those who were winners from Carbon were Joan Wallace who received an $80 scholarship and Virden J Blackman who received a $70 scholarship These two scholarships were restricted to use for Carbon College None of our people were among the state winners this year Last year Carol Prince won second place in the state and a $25000 scholarship!
