The program also included inspirational and powerf ul music which was provided by I'he Bel Cantos Choir The imperial Glee Club 'The Bridgerland Brass and vocalist Alice Bebee Their marvelous performances added so much to the evening and we are so grateful for their participation — many were moved to tears by the message conveyed through their incredible talent Also the speeches of the founding fathers which were presented with such power and feeling by the young men who played the roles of the founders thrilled the audience I'he drum and fife color guards brought to 'lHe the flavor of the era and stirred the patriotic feelings of those present and the Hag march by the scouts and their leaders brought the crowd to their feet All of these remarkable and wonderful elements truly made this an evening to remember! And all of these fine components were sadly overlooked bv The Herald Journal's editorial We are truly saddened that “more than one person walked away lrom the event feeling something just wasn't right about it all” but we are delighted and thrilled that hundreds and perhaps thousands left the program uplifted and rededicated to the timeless principles upon which tlie nation was founded We are already planning the Sixth Annual Cache Valley Commemoration of the Signing of the Constitution We leel that it too will be an evening to celebrate and commemorate the signing ol that marvelous document It will be held at 7 pm on Sept 17 1997 in the Logan Tabernacle We hope that all of those who love the Constitution “in the tradition ol the lounding fathers” will mark their calenders now and plan to attend the event Scon N Bradley of North Logan a the organizer of ttie annua' Cache Valiey Commemoration of Bit Signing o ttie Uiutec Stales Constitution Brass and Alice Beebe for the beautiful music they rendered in behalf of the birthday of the Constitution of the United Stales of America it was very touching and brought remembrance how very special America is and how this nation began and how very far we have strayed from the original intent Hats off to the little drummer girl and the piccolo player You both gave a special effect that if one closed their eyes they could have easily imagined themselves back 2UU years especially when they opened their eyes to see some of (he Founding Fathers seated before them fiats off to the young men who portrayed the different Founding Fathers It is seldom you see the discipline it lakes to put to memory the beliefs of such wise and eloquent men You did an excellent job! Hals off to all the Scouts and their leaderc Your presentation of the flags was completed with respect and order I cannot th iWlTbf flttift'afid expected place for a Boy Scout to be Hats off to Dr Skousen llianks for your expertise and years of dedication in studying the writings of the Founding Fathers and their intent in creating our Constitution You did a great job of showing the difference between the original Constitution and this contemporary thing we have now llianks for slaying nonpartisan and keeping with the Constitution in the tradition of the Founding Fathers That's what we came there to celebrate “our Sportswriter Dunn inflicted a real insult To the editor: Scott Dunn's use of the term “real Aggies” to describe the present USU women’s soccer team is inconsiderate shortsighted and ignorant Hie fact that the women’s team now competes in the NCAA as opposed to the NCSA and receives their support from the athletic office instead of the recrcationclub sport office does not make it any more “real” than their predecessors who were dedicated players and coaches Without their efforts there would be no NCAA women’s program at Utah Stale These players elevated themselves to the highest level of the National Colle- giate Soccer Association (the largest Division 1 collegiate member association in the United States) taking second at the 1995 National Tournament To imply that the women's teams prior to this year's version were not “real" is a tremendous insult to anyone associated with them including the former club members of this year's women's team as well as present members of other club programs striving for excellence at USU Truth be told NCSA teams' can compete with and best many NCAA pro- ( grams Collegiate soccer club teams across the nation recruit great athletes give scholarships enjoy tremendous fan support play at a high level and are great ambassadors for their respective institutions They do this without a word or dime of support from athletic departments and little recognition from the media Last year's women's team as well as club programs everywhere are very real Tlease do not discount them heritage” Hats off to all those who took so much time out of their personal lives to organize this program allowing us all to celebrate a very special birthday!
