| Show COLLEGE BOYS AND THE care for little outside of their own small world there Is hardly anything more absurd than the way college stu student dentt read the newspapers remarked the th graduate at the university drib club As a rule they ignore the live news ot of the day and read only the sporting page I 1 remember when I 1 was in col cal lege there were several epoch making events that took place but the boys tools took no interest in them in tact fact they practically did cot not discuss tapin them aft at all when the maine was blown up there was a slight ripple of excitement and a few expressions ol 01 anger but within a day or two the students were again deep in the sporting page and even on the sporting page the interest was limited to college contests it w was as almost absurd to see how we were wrapped up in our little world fortunately however as soon as a col cal lege boy Is graduated he rapidly broad t ens out and soon looks back to his col cal lege life as merely an incident in hia his career and not the most important part of it new york times |
