WORK OF CONGRESS what was done during the fifty sev anth session alexander mcdowell clerk of the house of representatives ha has s made public an official compilation made by tally clerk wakefield showing the work done by the house during the fifty seventh congress it shows th that thit it the longest day of the session lasted with recesses hours during which eighty roll rolle calls alls were taken the number of bills and resolutions introduced in the bouse house during the two sessions of the congress was and reports were made on 2 bills and resolutions the senate sent to the house 1 1630 senate bills and reso lations the house disposed of 2418 of the measures originating with it and of 1012 of the senate bills and resola eions mal ing a total of 3 bills and resolutions acted upon congress left on its calendars house and US senate bills and reso lations fifteen members of the house ald during the congress seven resigned and rhea ky and butler dutler mo alo were unseated the latter twice
