efforts to put a change in the form of county government to a vote but has decided it need not be in a rush to do so Paradise Mayor Gerald Allen said the association now has about 4100 signatures on petitions requesting a proposed change in the form of county government be put to a vote of county voters The mayors have sought since last year to change the present three-ma- n com- mission form of government to a council with an elected executive At present the mayors have more than the 3021 signatures needed to place the issue on the er seven-memb- Ferguson seeks Cache vote ballot Allen said chairmen of the petition drive in a couple of communities still have not turned in their petitions And Allen said he wants to give the mayors one last chance for input into the process when the Mayors Association next meets April 14 After the petitions are given to the county commas ion the county clerk will have 20 days to verify that all signatories are registered voters The petition will then go back to the county commission for action By law the commission must wait at least three months and can wait as long as 18 months to hold an election on the issue vo 8 Main Logan Snow was first elected
