Show Council probes s sewer problems I I The Ephraim City Council spent a large portion of its I meeting on Monday night discussing discUSsing discussing dis dis- cussing problems centered around the Ephraim sewer tem Councilman Clayton Peterson reported that Jim Kaiserman would like Uke to have readings on flow low over the weir at the sewer plant at regular intervals during during dur dur- ing the night The council de decided decided decided de- de to carry out this project Monday night Mr Kaiserman recommended recommend recommend- ed that the power plant be connected connected connected con- con to the sewer from the r north side w- w Councilman Peterson re reported reported reported re- re ported that he and Don Thompson Thomp Thomp- son can be connected to the sewer line which goes behind some of the houses on that block He noted that this line Une was not shown on the present m map It was also noted that an Eph Ephraim raim woman had Inquired as to who would pay the extra sewer charges If she rents her base base- ment The council has been asked asked asked ask ask- ed the same question by several other persons in that district It was reported that Willard Smith had suggested that all city property be inventoried and appraised Councilman Leon Olsen no noted noted noted no- no ted that the name of the Gary Apartments have been changed to Snow Manor He said that he has been asked if they can get blacktop on the east side of the apartments It was also pointed out that the railroad has agreed to buy the Inch 15 culvert for their feet of frontage in the 1971 curb and gutter district Mrs Val Beck contacted Councilman Robert Stoddard asking for a street light In the middle of the block on First East between Center and First South It was noted that is using Third South in front of the old Carlisle building for transferring freight At times there are several vehicles that are parked there which creates a hazard A motion was made by Mr Stoddard to have the police or mayor contact about using the street asking them to re refrain refrain refrain re- re frain from doing so The motion was seconded by Councilman Leon Olsen with the council voting its approval A motion was also made by Mr Stoddard that no more temporary temporary tem tem- permits be issued for trailers smaller than square feet The motion was seconded by Councilman Reed Nielson with the council voting aye It was decided to invite Clay Allred to meet with the council to advise- advise him on zoning for trailers |
