Show Two nab laurels in snow meet Two Manti men were members members members mem mem- bers of a man five team which captured the second annual cross-country cross race held last Saturday at Fish Lake The event was sponsored by bythe bythe bythe the Fish Goers As As- As There were five live different teams each made up of five live men which took par part tin in the race driving their snowmobiles over the mile 37 course Owen Braithwaite and Lee LeeCox LeeCox LeeCox Cox of Manti teamed up with Brent Hatch Kay Peterson and Doug Peterson all of Richfield in their winning effort The team received a trophy The winning team all used Ski Ski-Doo machines Other teams used Polaris Arctic Cat Snow Jet Johnson and Rupp snow snow- mobiles Mr Braithwaite said that it took his team one hour and seven minutes to cover the course Their total time was five minutes better than the second place team He noted that the five snowmobiles snowmobiles snowmobiles snow snow- mobiles comprising a team must all cross the finish line linein linein linein in order to be declared the winner Mr Braithwaite recalled that the members of his team traveled traveled traveled trav trav- as fast as 80 miles per hour on the open stretches Their speed was cut drastically in the areas where they en encountered encountered encountered en- en countered trees rocks creeks and other obstacles |
