I appointed Coordinator for the John Birch Society met July with local members and interested citizens at the home of Mrs Wilbur Braithwaite Braithwaite Braithwaite Braith- Braith waite in Manti Mr Dunns Dunn's appointment followed followed followed fol fol- fol- fol lowed the resignation of Mark Anderson Salt Lake City from the staff of the Society in order to enter the race for the United States Senate The John Birch Society is isan isan isan an educational organization and not a political one and therefore therefore therefore there there- fore no paid member of the staff may run for office though a member of the Society can take any honorable position positron of action in the political campaign he wishes The Society still takes no part in political action and has no intention of doing so Mr Dunn said Mr Dunn was born in Birmingham Birmingham ingham England and attended attend ed grade and high school and the Birmingham School of Music Music Music Mu Mu- sic there Before emigrating to the United States he and his brother operated a retail store Following World War II he came to this country and attended attended attended at at- tended the BYU He married Mary Jewell Goates o of Provo in 1949 They now have six children In 1950 he was called to serve a mission in England for the Church Since that time he has been employed in the production planning department department department depart depart- ment at the US U.S. Steel plant at Geneva |
