Working crews are driving the tunnel parallel to the Canadian company tunnel of Pioneer Gold Mines. The Big Horn tunnel aims to intersect the Pioneer in approximately 300 feet, Egbert said. Lost Boy claims are located in the White Canyon near Monti-cellUtah. Egbert reports an estimated 4,000 tons of ore blocked out to date. Mineralization is increasing as the tunnel continues, he added. Mine superintendent on the 18 Lost Boy claims is Alfred Frost. He notes the Pioneer and Lost Boy tunnels may intersect at 950 to 1000 feet. Big Horn also has property in Indian Creek, southern Utah which is under lease to the Stan-raMine Development Co. Grand Junction. The lessor, Egbert said, is planning a drilling program . A tunnel running 1,800 feet is now in ore and shipments of .30 per cent uranium oxide and 1.20 vanadium oxide are being made at the rate of 40 tons daily. Shipments from the North and South Pack Rat groups total 1,000 per month with an average grade of .35 uranium oxide and 1.50 vanadium oxide, Simpson notes. The companys one shaft mine is now at 430 the Cherokee foot depth with 650 feet of primary tunnels at the foot of the shaft. Chief engineer is Thomas E. Gaynor and J. H. Ratliff, Vernal, is local manager of Humphreys Phosphate. Ratliff, original discoverer and engineer of the phosphate deposit, attributes the working interest of the San Francisco firm to the recent passage of the Colorado River development program. The development program planned by San Francisco chemical includes construction of a large reservoir to control and store flood waters from Brush Creek to be used for upgrading of the phosphate material. The company also acquired title to coal lands south of the phosphate depostits for use in the ore. Primary problem faced by the company is transportation to available markets. Representatives met this week with the Utah State Highway Department engineers to discuss a site for an access road to the properties. Report of the shipment was made today by Ben B.
