C., attacking the Governments stockpiling program. Carl L. Shipley, attorney for Heyer Products, states that the suit is for the purpose of requiring the government to release or divert copper from the stockpile, at cost prices, to manufacturers who have .contracts to deliver finished products to the government at fixed prices. Shipley claims that Heyer has a contract with the Air Force to make starting units, for Jet plans. Further, he said, copper prices have advanced from 30 cents a pound at the time the contract was entered into, to a present 43 cents a pound. He asks that the government be required to release stockpile copper to Ileyer and other firms at cost, and that the Court declare government copper buying since January of this year, Approximately 10 tons of ore per day has been shipped from Consolidated Eurekas mine, in Nevada to a Salt Lake City smelter. When the drift Is completed in early spring, Parker predicted it will enable Shumway to achieve a production basis of 100 to 200 tons of uranium ore per day. At the present time, he said, production Is around 50 tons per day. Our known ore reserves are estimated to be worth $4,500,000 at present, on a conservative basis, after cost of mining has been paid, Parker declared. He said Shumway has several other potential properties which it expects to drill next summer, which are believed to possess uranium potential equal or even greater in value than that of the ager, announced today.
