Zodiac Uranium Opens in Salt Lake Zodiac Uranium Co., recently incorporated under the laws of the State of Utah, and a closed corporation, has opened offices at 320 Ness Building. The company is capitalized at $750,000 and has 15,000,000 shares. Officers are Leo Bateman, president, Merwin G. White, vice president, Darwin G. Hughes, secretary, and Gladys B. Hervey, treasurer. Hughes announced that Zodiac is in the process of acquiring properties in Arizona, Wyoming and Utah. Bateman is former president of Globe Uranium which was merged with Lone Star Uranium. White is former president of Plant Uranium, also merged with Lone Star. Plans for Pipeline To Go 900 Miles WASHINGTON Fourteen engineering survey crews, in the field for Pacific Northwest Pipeline Corp., have been permitted 900 miles for surveying. They have staked out 400 mile of pipeline location, acording to a progress report filed today with the Federal Power Commission. Accompanying the engineering crews is a fall complement of right-of-wa- y and land acquisition crews, it said. The pipeline company filed the report in compliance with the F. P. C. order of certification which required that start of construction be reported before Jan. 1, 1956. Construction began in May.
