AEC to Probe Gila Area For Deposits Investigative drilling of uranium deposits in the Globe-Youn- g area of Gila county, Ariz., will start soon under direction of the Atomic Energy Commission. The Salt Lake exploration branch of the Division of Raw Materials have completed arrangements with the Bureau of Mines for a diamond drill to probe the geologic environment. Results of the drilling program are expected to aid in prospecting for uranium and reduce the cost of exploration required to evaluate new areas. Both airborne and ground investigations have been conducted in the area during the past few years by AEC and U. S.
