C Cox entered Snow College as a year old fresh fresh- man The knowledge he had gained serving in these capacities coupled with the experience he had serving as editor for the North Sanpete High School newspaper newspaper newspaper news news- paper the Ess En-Ess-Aich made Roscoe Cox a valuable asset to the Badger campus In 1923 Snow College was suffering suffering suffering suf suf- fering from a lack of funds and the possibility of having a yearbook yearbook yearbook year year- book was out of the question But the need for some sort of student publication was apparent apparent ent and Mr Cox was asked to start a school paper under the direction of Joseph Jenkins English English English Eng Eng- lish teacher A staff was selected and with some student contributions and income from generous advertising advertising advertising advertis advertis- ing by local merchants The Snowdrift was born and several issues published during that 1 24 1923 year Members of the original l staff still living in this are area area are Mrs Reuel E E. E Vonda Henrie Christensen and Mrs Stanley Edna Munk Nielsen both formerly of Manti but now living in Ephraim He edited the paper for the full year yeal getting it well well-e well well-etab- tab tab- and when he could see that it was going to survive he retired from his position as editor editor editor edi edi- tor to become Student Body President for the year 1924 1924 25 This year two generations after after aft aft- er Mr Cox served as Student Body President a lot of changes have taken place around Snow College Although there is no longer a need for someone to initiate initiate ini ini- a newspaper or even a yearbook there is still as always always al al- al ways a need for a capable Student Student Student Stu Stu- dent Body President This position requires someone with good leadership abilities a alove alove alove love of office and a desire to see things get done Elections for next years year's stu stu- db V This was Grandpa as he looked when he assumed the Snow College Student Body Presidency in 1924 dent body officers were held five weeks ago and a promising young man emerged as the Student Student Student Stu Stu- dent body president for 1967 The victorious Student Body President elect is Neal L. L Cox and if there here is any truth in the statement that leadership runs in a family next year at Snow will be a good on one Neal is the son of Mr and Mrs R.
