Show Fatal Accident Claims Life of Former Resident William Bill Thorpe 71 2587 McClelland St. St Salt Lake City former Ephraim citizen was killed Friday at am a.m. at the Draper crossroads and his wife Cannie Squire Thorpe former was hospitalized The couple were on their way to ManU Manti Man Man- ti U to celebrate their wedding wedding wedding wed wed- ding anniversary Mr Thorpe was killed instantly instant instant- ly as he was thrown through the windshield and hit twice by the oncoming car He was thrown 92 feet Mrs Thorpe whose seatbelt seat seatbelt seatbelt belt was fastened suffered skull fracture bruises and broken ribs Her condition is reported as improving satisfactorily in the Cottonwood Hospital The other driver was unhurt Mr and Mrs Thorpe were students students students stu stu- dents of Ephraim and Manti ManU schools and married in the Manti Manti Man Man- ti Temple They moved to Salt Lake City where Mr Thorpe was employed for 38 years for He was an active member in the South Highland Ward Military rites were performed at his funeral services on Monday Monday Monday Mon Mon- day at noon He was a member of the US U.S. Army serving on the Mexican Border He is survived by his wife a ason ason ason son Dr Sherman Thorpe of Mesa Arizona a daughter Mrs David Mary Robinson eight grandchildren two sisters Mrs Edith Greaves and Mrs Deaun a brother Harold Thorpe all of Salt SaIt Lake City Local residents attending the Monday funeral services were Mrs Karen Hansen Mr and Mrs Levi Hansen and daughter Marsha Mrs Lillian H.
