Show THE MRK Wednesday, October 16, 1974 CITY tm CUtRH FageS CITY BRIEFS KITCHEN HELPERS AT MARSAC For many years, Marsac Elementary students have been helping out in the kitchen during lunch period. Sixth graders serve food and scrape plates during the first semester. Then, around the first of the year, the fifth graders take over. Assisting Mrs. Mackley and Mrs. Price in the kitchen is a team of four servers. Out in the hall is another team of four which scrapes and stacks tjie dirty plates. The groups are excused from class about 15 minutes early, work during the two lunch shifts, and then get a chance to sit down and eat. Changing each week, these groups not only provide help in the kitchen, but also gain experience. THREE KINGS CROWNED The Western Mountain Region of the American Institute of Architects honored GPCCs Three Kings Condominiums during its annual convention at Snowbird. Three Kings, which finished second behind Snowbirds Cliff Lodge, was commended by head judge Walter A. Netsch. Using the cluster plan and respecting the views and natural needs of protection from the weather, Three Kings makes an additional statement by eliminating the automobile from spoiling the environment, he said. The condominiums were designed by Frank Fuller of Salt Lake City. LOCKERS STILL AVAILABLE There are still some season ski lockers available for rent at the Resort. Two sizes of lockers are offered. The single lockers rent for $35 per season and the double lockers are priced at $50 for the season. To reserve a seasonal locker, the full amount of the rental fee must be given to Lila Jolley at the Ticket Sales Office. WHOS THE We do the Worrying fibocit your Furnace SKI SWAP The Second Annual Park City Ski and Sports Club Ski Swap, held October 12th and 13th, took in approximately $3,000, according to Coach Bruce Morse. With their ten percent commission on sales and the $250 collected in admission fees, the Ski and Sports Club should net over $500 from the venture. It was announced that another swap will be staged on November 2nd and 3rd. The Ski and Sports Club will hold unsold equipment and clothes for the next swap if owners so desire. Members of the Park City Ski Patrol and Ski School were given instructions on the emergency evacuation of the gondola and chairlifts. Instructed by Mel Fletcher and demonstrated by Bob Kassow, the emergency techniques are intended to prepare patrolmen and instructors for the unlikely possibility that a person or persons will have to be evacuated from either of the modes of mountain transportation. WENNOXi PS jimmy ' ROBBERS ROOST NOOSE ROBBED Three men, who werfrflescribed as being drunk, attempted to steal a hangmans noose from the Robfjers Roost restaurant at approximately 10 PM, Sunday, Oc- tober 13th. Owner Terry Jannott reported that the men tried to run out on the check, but were foiled. Failing in their first effort to rob the Roost, the juiced trio then ran loose with the noose which is used only fa decoration, at least up till now. The Park City Police Department quickly apprehended the rope rustlers. LADIES flLKS TO HOST COSTUME PARTY f! The last meeting of the Ladies Elk Club Was held oh Thursday, October 3rd. A variety of different handicrafts were displayed and demonstrated to the Club. A costume party is planned for the 26th of October to be attended by all members and invited guests of the Mens and Ladies Elks Club. A sophomore class of prospective newspaper journalists, armed with questions only, were welcomed to the office. Editor Kerry Bolton ssisted by Kathy Deckert, guided the students through the mechanics of a newspaper from the primary stage of the creation of an article to the final level of copy layout.
