Show THE Wednesday, July 31, 1974 PARK CITY comm Page 2 EDITORIAL RESPONSE REQUESTED After twenty-fou- r issues and almost one half year of weekly publication, the Park City Coalition is both reflecting and projecting. If there is any one aspect of' our newspaper which we wish to emphasize above all others, it is our sensitivity to the desires of you, our readers. It has been our objective since the Coalitions in- ception to employ both established and innovative methods of informing and entertaining. We feel this may be an appropriate time to reflect on our past efforts and to project our future goals. With this in mind, we ask our readers to criticize, compliment, and suggest. On this page is a means of letting us know what you feel are our strong points and our weak points. Tell us what you like, and what you do not like, and how we can improve. The Coalition, exists to fulfill the needs of its readers and, hopefully, with feedback such as this we will be able to do so to a greater degree. We feel we have made great strides in gaining the respect of our community in ?ix short months, but we are also cognizant that we need to continually strive for an improved product. WHAT DO YOU ENJOY MOST Theriot Spring Company is doing' to develop the Theriot Spring as a second water source for Park 'City is progressing right on schedule. Jack Johnson, GPCC Director of Design, says the work can be divided into three phases: the new 500,000 gallon reservoir; the pipelines necessary to connect the Spring and reservoir to the existing city water system; and the two pump stations. The excavation for the reservoir is completed, and the reinforcing steel for the base of the reservoir is being placed. Next week, concrete for the base will be poured. The concrete sides and top will follow. Johnson says the tank, which will be 60 feet in diameter and 30 feet high, should be completed by the scheduled date of Sep- . ABOUT THE COALITION? In fact, the tank area will eventually be a ski run, and skiers will go right over the top of the buried reservoir. All of the pipe necessary to tie the new system into the existing City water system has been delivered to Park City, and work will begin next week to lay the ' pipe. The necessary equipment has been ordered, and delivery should be made in October, allowing for total completion of the project in November. The cost of developing the new water system is being paid by Greater Park City Company under an agreement signed with the City. When completed, the new system will be turned over to the City, 'at no cost or financial obligation to the City. GPCC will receive a prescribed number of water connections, at no additional cost. When completed, the new system will be able to supply water to the Citys other two reservoirs, and all parts of the City will be able to use the water if necessary. Hi.:;. i!'..
