Show RdltS tO rise at end of year western AMERICANA Monthly rent increases range from one to sixteen dollars for houses and from 9 6.50 to 945 for quarters. non-housekeepi- ng Ft. Douglas, Utah 84113 Rents for civilian residents of Dugway will be raised effective December 31, 1972. The increases will be from one to sixteen dollars for houses. Residents of quarters will have their rent raised in amounts ranging from $650 a month to $45 a month. The increases are the result of a survey conducted by the Sacramento District Corp of Engineers in July. The survey is 1 rased on comparable cost of renting in communities near Dugway. THE SURVEY WAS conducted by the Engineers as directed by AR 210-1- 2 and the Office of Management and Budget. The principle established by the Office of Management and Budget is that the basic rental should be based on prevailing rental rates for comparable private housing or established through the use of the real estate concept of rental value if comparable housing is not available. OMB delegated the responsibility for establishing rental rates to the head of each Federal agency and prescribed that the rates lie affirmed or adjusted at least once three years. AR 210-1- 2 MAKES THE Chief of Engineers or his designee, the Division or District Engineer responsible for development of rental rates and charges for utility services for all quarters supplied under specific Department of the Army direction. The installation command must promptly implement new rent schedules upon receipt from the designee of the Chief of Engineers. Schedules received for family housing any time from the first through the 20th of the month will require that the tenants be notified, no later than the first of the following month that the rent schedule will go into effect die first of the succeeding month. Schedules received after the 20th shall be considered as being received the 1st of the next month. The largest increase for houses are in the single Wherry units and the NCO quarters. Each of these will be raised $16 a month with the Wherry units going to $150 a month and the NCO quarters to $130. MCA's will go up to $161 a month, an increase of $15. Hie Cape-har- t THE units will now be $181 a month, an increase of $14, while the 3 bedroom NCO quarters will be raised $12 a month to $141. Three bedroom Wherry duplexes will be increased seven dollars; the one bedroom Wherry five dollars and the Wherrys four dollars a month. The smallest increase will be Wherry units which will only lie increased one dollar a month. PERSONNEL IN quarters will have their rents raised the with in those suites with largest private bath and maid service going .from $75 a month to $120 a month. Without maid service the new rate will be $85 a month, an increase of $30. bath will pay $80 a month with Occupants of a single room with a semi-privamaid service and $60 without maid service. If die room has two persons the cost will be $50 per person. The installation commander may make an appeal to the schedule rent change. If an appeal is made tenants will be notified that an appeal has been made and that any adjustment of charges, upward or downward, resulting from the appeal will be made retroactive to the date of the rental appealed from was first placed in effect. THE REVIEWING authority will render a decision within 60 days of an appeal and the command will be notified of the results. At this time the command is in the process of conducting a detailed audit of the new rates to determine if an appeal can be made on the rent increases.
