C.; Take Citizenship Course 4-1- 1 The girls applied for the tour and were chosen from a large field of applicants, I Susan, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tom' Chapoose, is 17 years Old and a junior at Union high school. She is active in Friendship Club and in her church activities and is a recent three year seminary graduate. Jayleen is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Willy of Fort Duchesne, she is 15 years old and is a sophomore at Union high school is a member of Future Homeof makers America, Spirit club, Friendship club and Drama club. She is also active in her church and recently received a superior rating for a speech she presented at a IDS youth conference in Castledale. The tour, sponsored by the H clubs and Utah State University Extension Service, will include a short course in citizenship at the nations capitol. The girls are among 34 H members from Utah who will participate in the tour. Other states represented Include Tennessee, Kentucky, Missouri, Iowa, Nebraska, Illinois, Indiana and Montana. In Washington they will visit Washington National Cathedral, Embassy Row, Arlington National Cemetery (where they will see the tomb of the Unknown Soldier, 4-- 4-- 4-- Mansion, and Kennedy Grave-sites- ), Marine Memorial and Lincoln Memorial, Washington Monument, Jefferson Memorial, Capital Hill, National Archives, National Historical Wax Museum, White House, Bureau of Engraving and Printing and Smithsonian Institute. According to Mrs. Norma Denver, Title I Program, students who have 98 attendance for the first three weeks of classes will participate on a field trip to Salt Lake City. The highlight of the trip will be a special showing on Indian mythology at the Hansen Planetarium and other points of interest. The following is the bus schedule for the summer classes: 7 a.m. Randlett; 7:10 a.m. Fort Duchesne; 7:20 a.m. Todd School; 7:35 a.m. Lapoint; 7:45 a.m. Tridell; 8 a.m. Whlterocks; and return starting point at noon. Ute Cyclist Races In Ouray Smoke Runs Tribal Judges Meet In Salt Lake City Judges from neighboring tribes joined Judge Henry Upchego and Associate Judge Norma Jean Gray for a training session in Salt Lake City. A Good Citizen f)npn a Ute Indian Language Taught; May Soon Be Written Good Attitude Wins Pin for Pearl Black Pearl Black Slimmer SchOOl Ed Secakuku has joined the ranks of winning cycle racers. Last Sunday Ed entered the "Smoke Runs south of Ouray and placed third in the 175 class. The run was 20 miles long with contestants racing from one fire to the smoke of another as soon as it was visible. Three fires were built to mark the course. The races are sponsored by the Uintah Basin Motorcycle Club.
