With the recent opening of a Salt Lake sales office, Lincoln Log Homes has brought that vision closer to reality. According to Milton Young, sales manager, the log cabin concept is gaining popularity. Getting back to basics with a touch of nostalgia Young claims is the reason people are electing the log cabin as an alternative housing style. Lincoln Log Homes offers their own architects and designs, but Young emphasized the firms ability to formulate a blueprint to meet any specification. According to Young the cost of a cabin is nearly 20 percent less than a stick built home and the aesthetic value of the cabin increases its overall worth. We can supply everything of any portion the cabinowner requests. They can buy just the uniformly cut logs or a Young excomplete turn key project, plained. Lincoln cabins can be used for permanent or summer homes, expanded into lodges or offices, he added. The company began in American Fork about a year ago and mill operations are still headquartered there. Trees are cut from beetle kill timber which, according to the U.S. Forest Service, creates an environmental recycling process. Oros Co. Emphasizes Environmental Technology Dr. Noel de Nevers, a well known member of the Utah air conservation committee, has formed a new firm called Oros Company to develop environmental technology in the energy and natural resource areas. According to his associate, Dr. James H. Gardner, the companys priorities are to make useful contributions to both the conversion and application of energy forms and available resources. Gardner indicated patents for several energy technological inventions are pending. Oros Co. is presently involved in the development stages of specific assignments, but according to Gardner, the research and development are not far enough advanced to release specific information. |
