For some time a man has spent many months of his time in search of news and interesting articles to put in the Metro Newsletter. Those who work only for money cannot understand how anyone can do such a wonderful job like that all for nothing. There are thousands of dedicated people who are constantly working for nothing, but who will say they are not paid? Those who believe that giving something for noth-i- s the way to true happiness. The laborer is always worthy of his hire. Those who labor without pay receive their reward in joy and the satsifaction of a job well done; and joy cannot be purchased with mere money. Virginia McCullock - SPECIAL EVENTS FOR SENIOR CITIZENS RECREATIONAL CENTER Lucile Hutchings Again at work planning the Meal for Aging Set for Thursday, November 16th. 237 So. 10th East The Center welcomes a new group meeting on November 15 at 8 p jn. Post 97 of the Royal Canadian Legion where WHIST (cards) will be part of the program plus refreshments, and prizes. New members are welcome. A one day trip to Ogden and Huntsville will be Friday, Nov. 17. The bus will leave the Center at 10:45 am. and travel to Ogden, where you may purchase your own lunch at the Chuck-A-RamNext it will be on to Huntsville Monastery, where some great bread may be purchased, pus a special a. tour will be given. This month Fox Theatre at the Cottonwood Mall will present a special Senior movie Saturday, Nov. 18 at 3 pm. Brother of the Wind (G) will be shown at a reduced price of $1.25 for everyone over age 55. You may obtain tickets at Center desk. Special one day trip to the Snowbird Resort in Alta Canyon, Nov. 20th. Bus will leave Center at 10:30 am. You may purchase your own lunch and ride the tram lift for a reduced cost. CONGRATULATIONS R E -- T H A N K S G LANNED I FOR V I MEAL N G THURSDAY Obstacles and difficulties that at first seemed to force curtailment of the meal planned for the aging, apparently have been surmounted. When, it was learned that lack of space and eating utensils were major problems, the MSLSA received hundreds of phone calls from businessmen restaurants, private individuals and clubs offering to provide not only the space, but also the food for the meal. Mrs. Lucile Hutchings, director of the program, said that because of that assistance, more than 1 ,000 senior citizens will be able to participate in this SENIOR CITIZENS NOVEMBER 16TH. FOR meal. Mrs. Hutchings said, The response has been wonderful. I even received a call front a couple who said if we had an overflow again this year they would take four or five of the senior citizens in their own years home. The owner of the Four Sea- sons Restaurant, 3618 High- land Dr., has offered his esfor additional tablishment space. The Utah Licensed Beverage Association has offered to pay for the food and entertainment at that restaurant. west Multipurpose Center and will also provide food there. Mrs. Hutchings indicated the meals will now go on as scheduled November 16 at all three locations. Senior citizens wishing to participate should call MSLSA for reservations.
