Show November 1972 rag e y UTAH WOMANS REVIEW DR. OF THE YEAR DR. By WOMAN'S VIEWPOINT DONNA BENSON WHAT YOUR ATTENTION IS UPON For Healths Sake YOU DRAW INTO YOUR WORLD!" It has been said, Thought, Feeling and the Spoken Word are the only Creative Powers in the Universe! Thoughts are pictures in the mind. Thoughts are energy. Before we do anything, the thought of doing it must be in the mind. A young wife saw a beautiful golden suit in a mens clothing store window. She wanted to buy it for her husband. As she looked at the suit, she visualized how handsome he would look with it on. Her feelings aroused she went into the store and had the suit laid away so that sometime in the future she could give it to the one she loved. We are creating something every moment by our thoughts, our feelings and Our spoken word. Every night while we sleep we have wonderful energy flowing throughout our bodies to refresh them, to energise them and to rebuild them. The moment we awaken in the morning, what are the first things we say? How do we use this God-give- n energy? Do we use it for good? Do we use it to make our lives happy? Do we use this precious life energy to make our families happy? Do we use this wonderful energy to make the world a better place in which to live? How do we utilize this pure energy? Do we accustom ourselves to create peace and harmony for those around us by speaking in kindly, gentle tones? Do we force our opinions on others or do we let them have their freedom and liberty? When our attention (mind, thought or sight) is directed towards having a good life and a happy time, then because of the Universal Law of Attraction we will have the good life, simply because that is what our attention is upon during each Even when hour of the day. other employees or the boss talk about their operations, or accidents or problems, we will not accept those negative ideas into our world, because we desire a better life than that. You and I can say: I want happiness, I want peace, I want health, I want supply, I want the better life. But I know, if I expect the good things of life, I absolutely MUST NOT dwell upon the negative. I must not judge, condemn or criticize. I must not talk about disease, accidents and problems. If I talk about negative things, those are the things which will come into my world because my attention, my feelings and my spoken word are attracting those things to me. So I must reverse my thinking and let my immediately thoughts and feelings dwell on the good and the beautiful things of this world. Not to dwell upon the negative, but to illustrate that what our attention is upon, WE DRAW INTO OUR WORLD! I would like to relate the following story: When Ron and Jan were married they were so happy. Each had a good job: they were buying their own home: they had sufficient money, good friends and they were a perfectly happy couple. One day while at work, Ron mentioned to one of his coworkers, how happy he and his wife were and how perfect everything was going in their lives. The workman apparently didnt see things quite the way Ron did, and his immediate reply was: It wont last! It wont last. . Instead of Ron dwelling on his happiness thoughts, he began to think about the words, It wont last! As Ron spoke with other acquaintances at work and in his social world they too expressed words of doubt and skepticism about his marital bliss. More and more these negative ideas permeated his thinking. He even mentioned these things to his wife and said, I guess it cant last. Little annoyances began to upset them and the feeding of these wrong ideas with their energy began to take its toll. When Jan lost her job, they couldnt keep up the payments on the car so they had to return it to the bank. Quarreling became a seed for more discord in their marriage and the increased emotional strain affected Ron, causing him to lose his job and finally their home. Shortly after these reverses their marriage broke up and the once happy couple were separ- ated and extremely unhappy. What really was the cause for their unhappy plight? The letting in of the negative ideas happiness cant last planted seeds of discord within the DR.VERN N Dr. Vern R. Anti-Tru- mind, which took root into weeds of disharmony, contention and misery, causing the resulting separation to take place? Perhaps if Rons had not suggested the negative idea, It wont last, things may have been different. But on the other hand human nature is that way, so each of us should not allow these opposite mind pictures to come into our world. I recall a statement of advice from my reading the other day, which said, Mind your own business. It was in relation to the ways and means people could free themselves and have some of the burdens of this world lifted from their shoulders. At first I was shocked, then I smiled to myself and thought, Yes, this whole world would be better if we would mind our own business. co-work- er I wonder how many negative, thoughtless comments we have heard others speak and how many we have accepted? How many wrong words have we spoken and perhaps affected the lives of others? If we have been negative, then our responsibility is very great . . . because we have interfered with the Freedom, the Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness of those individuals whose lives we have touched st When your facej feels as tired g ) iasyourfeet, - in your head?
