Lindas parents are ColRichard Money, League Concludes Current Series La Leche League of Cache Valley held its concluding discussion of the current series Thursday at the home of Mrs. Gary (Marge) Taipa-lu- s in Logan. AND MRS. DENNIS LEE JAMES Couple Announces Marriage Linda Dorene Carlson and Dennis Lee James were married in the Logan LDS Temple on Thursday. Linda is the daughter of - Mr. and Mrs. Dorius D. Carlson, Kenai, Alaska and are former residents of Richmond. Dennis is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Don D. James, Rexburg, Idaho. Linda's parents honored the couple at an open house reception that evening in the Richmond Community Building. Linda LKirene graduated from Kenai Central High. She is a graduate of Hollywood Beauty College in Logan and from Ricks College in Rexburg. Elsie Mrs. Holbrook is employed by Evelene Moody Smithfield 'Snowfall' Hubbard is reported ta be recuperating satisfactorily from a fall at her home. Charles Hubbard, her husband, had an operation on his eye and expected to be home last Monday. A daughter, Melba Snell and daughter, Sally, Soda Springs, spent overnight at the Hubbard home and visited her father. A son, Merrill Hubbard of Grace, Idaho, visited his parents, Saturday. Other members of the Hubbard family have either telephoned or called af'ttie home1.' 'A daughter ttttd 'her husband, who are on a mission to Southern Utah, Ora and Elvin Meacham, telephoned. Marilyn and Kenneth Lent of Salt Lake City visited their aunt and uncle, Mary and Cyril Ledingham over the weekend. They all attended the picture at the local theater, Saturday evening. Eulalia Humphreys, visited and had dinner with her sister and husband, Pearl and Earl Gordon in Smithfield, Sunday. Nibley. She is employed at Schrib-er- s Cheese and Rick is manager of Logan Lanes. Betty Jo is from Richmond originally and her mother is Florence Halverson, Richmond. Rick is the son of Mrs. Marie Twomey of Camillus, New York. A dinner party was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Michell in American Fork honoring Mrs. George Smith, Tremonton. Mr. Smith was present besides Mr. and Mrs. Budd Low, Smithfield, Mr. and Mrs. George White, Providence. Mrs. Smith was celebrating her . birthday anniversary. They all spent several days in Salt Lake City. New to our area is Mrs. Peggy Holbrook and son, Nicholas, 5. They come from Pocatello. Norma Spencer was unfortunately struck by an automobile in Logan a week ago Saturday. She suffered a fractured pelvis, a cracked hip and numerous cuts and bruises. She is at the Logan hospital and is slowly recuperating. She expects to be there one more week. William Brough is recuperating in the Logan Hospital following a heart attack two weeks ago. He is recovering slowly but satisfactorily, his wife reports. He lives at 168 South 350 East, Smith-field. Vetica Miller celebrated her fourth birthday Oct. 7, at her home with 15 friends and relatives. Games were play- ed. Her mother, Kathy Miller served ice cream, cake and punch. Vetica then opened her gifts. Helen and Zane Abbott of Spokane, Wash., are visiting their son and his wife, Kathryn and Michael Abbott, and making the acquaintance of a new granddaughter bom Oct. 3. The Michael Abbotts live in Richmond. Mrs. Wesley Tarbet, Smithfield and Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Godfrey, Clarkston and Mrs. Ralph Udy, Fielding, attended a wedding reception in Kaysville for Mr. and Mrs. Chris Merkley who were married in the Salt Lake Temple. Mr. and Mrs. LaVar Godfrey, Kaysville, are the parents of the bride. Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Merkley are the parents of the groom. Sunday a dinner was served by Mrs. Nora Richards at her home to her two sons, wives and family. Present were Ted and Gwen Richards and three sons of Bountiful, and Phyllis and Max Richards and three daughters of Franklin. Afterwards they took a ride to Bear Lake, visited and took pictures. Spending the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Miles Nilson, Smithfield were Mrs. Robert Hawkes and daughter, Josie, of - at First Security Bank as a teller. Her mother is Mrs. Verba Hancock of Menan, Idaho. Peggy has a sister, Mrs. Richard (Connie) Waters living in Smithfield. Other newcomers to Smithfield are Cherry Lynne and Max Pitcher, 57 South Main and children, Christine, 12, Michael Shane, 10, and Tiffiney, 7. Max is a truck driver for Tri-Mille- Maxs parents are Elaine and Lorin Pitcher of Logan and Cherrys are Lillie and Russel Olsen of Providence. He also has a grandmother Peterson living in Smith-fiel- d. Cyril Leddingham had the misfortune of being struck by a car while crossing Main Street at First North in Smithfield. He received bruises and abrasions but is feeling better. He is convalescing at home. Mrs. Venice Benson and daughter Susan and her daughter, Holly Miller, of Salt Lake (Sty, visited Mrs. Bensons sister, Fern Richardson, Wednesday, in Smith-fiel- d. The Sixth Ward Relief Society Homemaking day was held Wednesday with Molly Hyde, counselor, in charge. Crafts included dry weed arrangements led by Evelyn Meikle. A holiday traditions class was led by Susan Law. An oil painting class was led by Helen Chambers, president. The lesson, on Family Health, was given by Louise Young. Luncheon was served to about 35 by Helen Bastian, chairman, assisted by Joan Brown, Susan. Byington, Cheryl Hubbard, Lorraine Hoyt and Lola Eliason. Those members celebrating birthdays this month were Gloria Holt, Becky Williams and Connie Spring. Janet and Blaine Rich and family, Brett, Wendy, Julie, Brad and Brian, spent the summer in 'St! Charles, Idaho, working on their farm. They are home now and Wendy and Brett are attending USU. Wendy as a sophomore and Brett a freshman. They also did some boating while in Idaho. Kathryn and Mike Christiansen flew to San Francisco to attend the Concord Jazz Festival in Concord. They also toured San Francisco. They were gone two days. Helen and Clayton Armstrong flew here from Midlothian, Texas, to visit their son, wife and family, Sam-miBill and children. In the four days they were here they did sightseeing at Bear Lake, Beaver Mountain, in Idaho, and while Sammie and her mother-in-lamade grape Jelly and did some shopping, Bill and his father made a short trip to Pocatello. Sun Valley, Idaho, was the setting of a four day vacation for Kathryn and Mike Christiansen and family, Wendy, Corey, and Dustin, where they relaxed and did some golfing, played tennis and swimming. Arlene and Boyd A. and Carma and Bud Mason, Smithfield announce the arrival of a new granddaughter. She was born Oct. 9, at 12:01 a.m. to Linda and Scott Torson of Orem, Utah. She was born at a Provo hospital and weighed six pounds 14 ounces. Her father is attending school in Orem. e, w Visiting their parents, Ruby and W. Hazen Hillyard are their family, Eunice and Roy Davis of Elmhurst, HI., and daughters, Caroline Gib-b-y, Helen Davis, and Ann Simpson of Provo. Also, Douglas Gibby, married to Caroline. Helen Davis is attending BYU. Also attending BYU are Carolines and Anns husbands. Roy Davis is a bishop in Elmhurst and he and his wife came to attend Relief Society conference and general conference. Saturday Jean and Randall Hillyard, Ogden, and daughter, Margaret visited his parents, the Hazen Hillr yards and painted the barn. Randall is a bishop in Ogden. Evelyn Hansen, another daughter of the Hazen Hillyards, spent Sunday her parents and visiting family. Friday a reception for the young couple was held at the Rexburg First Ward Chapel in Rexburg. The couple will make their home in Rexburg while Dennis attends Ricks College.
