We all surely wish him a speedy recovery. Todd Talbot of Bountiful, grandson of Aileen and Bill Barker and son of Carolyn Talbot was injured seriously in a motorcycle accident. He is recovering at a Salt Lake City hospital. Lewis Smith of Newton attended the 1975 annual conference for the Western Association of State Game and Fish Commission at Seattle, Washington, for the past week. He served on the committee for the resolutions. Geo and Lewis Smith met their daughter, Kathy, and her husband, Joe Warren, from St. George, Utah, in Salt Lake Gty yesterday afternoon. Kathy is receiving medical tests in the Salt Lake Gty hospital today. Gordon Sutherland had the misfortune of falling and breaking his ankle. He will be convalasing for the next six weeks with a cast on his foot and leg. Murray Rigby was charged by a bull while taking care of chores on the family farm Sunday evening. Leda and Gordon Sutherland are proud grandparents of a baby girl born to their daughter Susan and her husband Marv White of Grand Forks, North Dakota. She was born July 16, at 10 p.m. weighing nine pounds and 104 ounces. She was greeted by a sister Michelle, two years and four months and Births Cheryl Christiansen, Newton, was indeed Cook of the Week recently. With her mother away to camp for four days, Cheryl and her sister Ann, were left home to keep the family fed. Greg, the youngest of the family, was very easy to please, living off of tuna fish sandwiches. But her father, Horace, and the rest of the family enjoy trying new and different things. Cheryl, 17, enjoys cooking. Her mother, Been, has taught her many useful tips. For one, to clean up her mess! She will be a senior at Sky View High School and participate as a cheerleader this coming year. She enjoys art, dancing, helping on the farm, and all sports, including boys. She has two older brothers, Mark and Chad, who are both married and living away from home. She said she would be glad trying to cook anything if her family would be brave enough to try eating it. A geneology meeting was held and historical slides were shown and a tape told of the history of Smithfield. Prizes were given for the family with the most children present, persons coming the furtherest, etc., for a total of 10 prizes that were presented. Each family brought their own dinner with dessert being furnished. Eighty-fivattended the affair. Members came from Salt Lake Gty, Boise, Pennsylvania, California and a lot of locals. President is Edwin Ruth-va- n IV and the secretary is Diana Tout Esplin. Games were played and horseback riding was enjoyed. Dan Littledike, son of Bonne and Don Littledike is home to take his CLEP test for college entrance. He has been at the Grand Canyon, Jacobs Lake Lodge where he was employed for the summer. Bette and Ken Kirk, Smith-fielannounce the arrival of their third grandchild and first grandson, born to Stephanie and Darrell Wyatt of 1604 W. 8th North, Logan. He was born July 15, at the Logan hospital and weighed eight pounds nine ounces and was 214 inches long. Scald milk, and when cooled, add oil, salt, soda, and remaining sugar. Add 2 cups flour and mix well. Add softened yeast and beat. Add remaining flour to make an elastic dough. Cover and let rest 10 minutes. Place in bowl. Cover and let rise until double in bulk. Divide into 2 balls and shape into loaves. Let rise until double in bulk. Bake at 350 degrees about 40 minutes, (can use up to 9k whole wheat flour) Mk your own buttermilk. Mix 1 23 cups instant dry milk with 39k cups water. Add 9k cup flesh buttermilk. Stir until smooth. Allow to clabber at room temperature overnight. Kiwanis Meet The Kiwanis summer party was held Wednesday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Gair L. Selley in Smithfield. Others include a greatgrandmother, Mrs. Madge Eberitt, Fort Collins, Colorado; Mildred and Claude Nickolson, Enid, Oklahoma; Mrs. Eva Schilling, Fort Collins, Colorado, and Anna and Louie Erickson, Winsor, Colorado. Aaron Claude will be his new name. His daddy is employed at the Greek Gardens and Park, attends USU. Mrs. Gladys Thomley is home following several days stay at the hospital in Logan. Husband, Clark, is happy to have her home. Kandee, 34, and parents, Janet and Kent Ward, are proud of the little brother and son that arrived at the Logan hospital July 14. They live at 124 South First East, Smithfield. He weighed seven pounds 7 ounces and was 204 inches long. He has grandparents, Ivean and Ray D. Olsen, Hyrum and Julia and Robert O. Ward, Ogden, also greatgrandmother Hazel Ward, Preston. He will be named Brandon Kent Ward. His daddy is a bookkeeper at Farmers Exchange. Mrs. Nora Richards spent two weeks in Monti cello, visiting her daughter and son-in-la- Patrice and Gyde Christensen and ily, Scott, Marcia and famRob- ert. They picniced up the canyon, held cook outs and drove to Colorado. The Christensens brought Mrs. Richards home and stayed three days. Before returning to Smith-fiel- d they saw the parade on the Fourth of July in Bland-in- g and visited friends. Tuesday, a son and daughter-in-law Tedd and Gwen Richards of Bountiful, visited for the day. Mrs. Katie Earl of Logan also came. She is Gwens mother. Smithfield Fourth Ward Relief Society was held Tuesday at Machs Park with First Counselor, Margaret Archibald conducting. President Eloise Meyer, presided. Two quilts were tied for a refuge family living in the ward. Ships were also worked on end a demonstration on the use of whey was given by Treva Parish. The lesson was given by Marie Mather. It will be brown brick with brown frame trim. They hope to move in about September or October. Terry's parents are Ruby and Creed Johnson and Ellens are Naomi and Harold Grunig all of Smithfield. They Terry Johnsons live at 171 South 350 East in Smithfield. This home too, Mr. Johnson built. Children and grandchildren of Ruby and W. Hazen Hillyard attending the Miles reunion and spending some time with their parents were Jean and Bishop Randal Hillyard and daughter, Margaret, all of Ogden; Faye and Ferris Hillyard and daughter, Mary Ann of Salt Lake Pity; a grandson, Paul and Stephen Egbert of Salt Lake Gty; Mrs. Evelyn Hansen and children, Mary Ann, Jane, Morris and Tommy of Amalga. Following the reunion, the family met at the W. Hazen Hillyard home for refreshments and visiting. Pearl and Earl Gordon attended the Sons of the Utah Pioneer outing in Hyrum Park Friday afternoon and evening. Visiting at the home of her parents, Phyllis and Glen Tout are their daughters Susan Michener and children Christopher, Eric and Kristin of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Also daughters Nannette and Lowell King and son Kevin of Smithfield and Diana and Lyle Esplin and family, Jamie Jodie and Jackie of Hyrum. Darlene and Bob Hill Jr. and sons Todd and Kit drove to Bear Lake for water skiing, barbequing, boating and a good time. Friends Sheril and Jim Bullen and children Stacy, Mike and Jill of Hyde Park shared the fun. Visiting at the home of their brother recently were Mrs. Feryl Pettit of Bill. California, and Connie and Ray Taremore of San l-- Garkston Panter and five children ot Sarah and Andrew Gark and members of their family, Ruth and Douglas Gark and family : Pearl and Max Gark and family all of Garkston and Sharon and Jay Clark and family of Mesa, Arizona attended the William H. Gark reunion in Buhl, Idaho on Saturday. A good day was enjoyed by approximately 102 descendants. Shirlene and Denzel Gark and family, Valerie and Zane, and Debra and Dan Cooper and son, Dan of Logan, enjoyed a three day trip to Yellowstone and Virginia Gty, returning home on Sunday afternoon. Sterling Jardine of Amorc has been appointed to a three year term on the commissioned wholesaler committee for the National Oil Jobbers Council in Washington D.C. Sterling presently serves as vice chairman of the Utah chap ter of the Intermountain Oil Marketers Association. He was a former with Gordon on the UPRR for many years. All his family and friends were saddened by his death. Also attending the services were Blaine and Arva Jar-din- e of Salt Lake City. Her husband Mike will arrive next Sunday to visit with her family. Some 90 Senior Gtizens attended the Friday program at the Senior Citizen Center. A sextette of ladies from Mendon, Pam Buist, Auralea Hyer, Barbara Bird, Carol Thompson, Tawna Fonnes-bec- k and Joni D. Bruin sang several numbers. Lillian Johnson sang a descant to America the Beautiful, with the sextette. She also sang three solos. The program continued with Ada Walker giving pioneer poems and a true pioneer story of her grand Mareos, California. A niece, Gndy Hodge, of Whittier, California was also present. They had all come home for their mothers, Nora Neilson, funeral and stayed with their brother and his wife Roma and Dale Nielsen in Smithfield. Mr. and Mrs. Merlin Whittle of Hyde Park had as their guests for a few days Mrs. Ruby Farnsworth of Fielding. Lisa, Linda and Matt spent five days with their aunt and uncle, Charlene and George Marchant and family of Smithfield. They are the children of Georges sister, Janet Luke, Salt Lake Gty. They also visited the grandparents, Ann and Albert Marchant. Seventh Ward Sacrament meeting was held Sunday evening with Counselor Clair Robinson conducting. Youth speaker was Tammy Capener. Vida Lind spoke on education week. Returned missionary De-lo- y Hansen spoke of his mission to Spain. Mrs. Zula Chase is recovering at home following five days in a Salt Lake Gty hospital. She is the wife of Nephi Chase. Jennette Clark and children Jimmy and Bryce of Carson City, Nevada, have been visiting her parents, Salena and Leo Low for a week. Mrs. Lucie Wilson and daughter Patricia of Layton, visited Mrs. Wilsons sister Verla and and brother-in-laEdwin Noble for the w SUP Hold M., The Martin Harris Camp of Daughters of Utah Pioneers met at the home of Flo Godfrey. It was a combined business, election meeting and social. Veda B. Loosle was elected to be captain for the next term. Refreshments were served to nine members. This week from July 21 to 25, members of this camp will serve as hosts at the DUP Relic Hall in Logan. Margaret Barson arrived home on Tuesday, July 15. from Independence, Mo., where she stayed at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Aaron Jr., and Kathie Barson and welcomed the arrival of a new granddaughter. Mrs. Bessie Griffin entered the LDS hospital in SEalt Lake Gty on Tuesday and being operated on Wednesday for a broken hip she sustained in a fall 10 month 5 ago. This will be the second operation she has had on her hip. We all wish her a speed recovery. Kathryn and Evan Godfcy were Sunday dinner guests at the home pf his brother and sister-in-laLaVar and LonaMae Godfrey and family in Kaysville. An enjoyable meeting was held on Sunday evening with LeRoy Goodey in charge. Speakers for the evening were Marian Dahle and Annette Goodey, youth speakers; Gail Godfrey and Elder Lyle Gark who recently returned from the Arizona Mission. He is the son of Bishop Marion and Janice Gark of Soda Springs, Idaho. Dinner guests at the home of Cherrill and Volmer Gark on Sunday was his brother -- and sister-in-la- Bishop Marion and Janice Clark and son, Lyle of Soda Springs, Idaho. Pearl and Max Gark and family were Friday overnight guests at the home of her brother, Robert and Barbara La Pray and family in Buhl, Idaho. Park Dinner Sons of the Utah Pioneers and their wives met at Hyrum City Park Friday noon for a prepared beef dinner. Some 60 people attended. President Haslem was in charge of the dinner and presided. Lorenzo Hansen conducted. Alxiut 25 or 30 people utciiugiil in their campers and were going to Bear Lake Saturday. Roland Mortensen was in charge of breakfast. Some that had gone home came for breakfast. A program was given Friday by Mr. and Mrs. Eric Nielsen.
