Following their marriage they made their home in Logan for eight years and have lived in Clarks ton for eight years. They are the parents of five children, Randy 14V4, Joey 1244, Debra 9, Holly 3, and Stacy Jo, 1 year. Faye graduated from North Cache High School and has held several positions in the organizations of the LDS Church as MIA teacher, dance director, also Beehive teacher and advisor and as a Cub Scout Den Mother. She loves sewing and doing all kinds of handwork, especially hand painting. MEAT LOAF 2 pounds ground beef, '4 envelope Lipton soup mix (onion) 2 eggs, beaten 14 to 1 3 cup catsup 114 cup soft bread crumbs or 114 cups oatmeal 44 cup warm water In medium bowl lightly mix together meat with soup mix, eggs, catsup, breadcrumbs and water. Shape into loaf, 9x5x3. Bake for 1 hour. Makes eight large servings. . HOT ROLLS 2 packages yeast, dry or cake Add to 14 cup warm water 14 14 1 Mix cup shortening cup sugar ctip warm water together: eggs, well beaten Add to above mixture: 414 cups flour . 2 teaspoons salt Stir in gradually. Refrigerate overnight. After rolling out, let rise three hours. Bake at 400 degrees for 15 to 25 minutes. 3 JELLO SALAD Double Recipe lemon packages jello (small) cups water, 2 cups hot, 2 cups cold Set until syrupy, whip lightly. Add: 2 cups drained pineapple (save juice) 2 cups small marshmallows 4 bananas, sliced Set. 2 4 Topping: cups pineapple or else orange juice 2 1 cup sugar tablespoon flour 1 Cook until thick, beaten eggs 2 then add: Cook 1 minute, stirring at all times. Cod and add 1 cup whipping cream. Fold in, spread on jello, or sprinkle with nuts and cherries. Tim Gleason of North Logan was a dinner guest at the home of Jann Jardine and her family, Mr. and Mrs. Ira Jardine on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Connall Carlson of Rigby, Idaho, called at the home of their aunt and uncle, Rangna and Paul M. Clark on Friday. Her two sisters and two brothers and family arrived on Wednesday, set up camp in their back yard and had an enjoyable four day visit. They visited the Cache Valley cheese plant, attended the Logan fireworks, Newton Fourth of July flag ceremony, Newton Ward breakfast, and the Fourth of July parade at Lewiston. On Thursday evening, Vernons folks, Lee and Virginia Summers from Paradise and Verla s parents from Ogden, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Crag-respent the evening with them. The family members who enjoyed this special four day get together planned for every four years were Verla and Vernon and three children; Verla 's brother, Steven and his wife Alice; Ritchie and two children, Scott and Allison of Claramont, California; her brother, Brent and his wife, Janis Ritchie and four children, Karl'. n, Kathryn, Melanie, and Ranee from Teton, Idaho; Verla's sister, Nanette, and her husband, Rod Stone, and two children, Kyle and Tana of Layton, Utah, and Verlas sister, Karren, and her hus- ' band, Paul McLaws and one child, Sean, of Salt Lake City.- - Visitors at the home of her Buttars. On Sunday a dinner was held at the home of Marsha and Van Jenkins of Newton after the blessing of their infant daughter, Melanie, in fast and testimony meeting. Those who enjoyed this pleasant family gathering were Marsha, Van, Troy, Mamie, Veneal Jenkins, Leda, Debra, Ann, and Ted Suther- College in Los Ange- les, California. Their son, Bob, and his wife and three children from Chicago, Illinois were also recent visitors when they also came for June MIA Conference in Salt Lake City. Bob works at the memorial hospital as a specialist in childrens dentistry. Visitors at the home of Hazel Rigby and Royden Denson are his daughter, Ilda Marie Berge, and her husband, Bill, and three children, Heidi, Billy and Eric, of Lucadia, California, and Bills mother, Mrs. Wm. Berge of California. Bill and his mother, Mrs. Berge, returned home on Sunday but Ilda Marie and children will be visiting for several .weeks. On Saturday they and their children, Annette Benson and children, Andrea and Bryan, and Craig Benson all had a fun day at Lagoon for a family get together. Helen G. Jenkins of Flagstaff, Arizona, who is assisting in caring for her mother, Erma Griffin, of Newton at Sunshine Terrace also attended June MIA Conference in Salt Lake City where she also was privileged to attend a banquet with 600 MIA workers attending and the MIA General Board. Visitors in the Newton Ward for the Fourth of July holiday and weekend were Don and Nel Petersen and children, Jan, Billy and Ruth of Las Vegas, Nevada. They were visitors at the home of his mother, Lizzie Petersen. Don and Nel are former members of Newton. There son, Joey, is on a LDS mission in Palmyra, New York. Visiting at the home of Edrius and Sid Hansen have been their four daughters, Carma and three children, of Daly City, California; Elaine and children of Salt Lake City; Glenna and two children of Las Vegas and Doris and son of Ketchikan, Alaska. The Newton annual Fourth of July breakfast was held on the town square with breakfast served from 7:30 to 9:30. The Newton Ward Fast Sunday spiritual presentation was given by the Marlow Viehweg family. Those who participated gave talks or poems. They were Marlow, his son Tate gave a poem, Fran gave a poem composed by her sister, Page sang a song and she was accom panied by Karren Jones. Jet gave a reading accompanied by LaRue Jones. Marlow gave The Pledge of Allig-anc- e to the Flag, Newton Ward Fast and testimony meeting was conducted by Counselor Myron Benson. He thanked everyone for the success of the Fourth of July breakfast and the help the Aaronic Priesthood would receive from it for their Green River expedition. There were three young members confirmed after baptism on Saturday evening. Page Viehweg, daughter of Fran and Marlow Viehweg was confirmed by her father, Marlow, and assisted by her grandfather Johnson, Norvel Jones and assisted by the counselors, Myron Benson and Jay G. Rigby. Eric Larsen was confirmed by his father, Joe Larsen, and assisted by counselor Myron Benson and Jay G. Rigby. Cliff Petersen was confirmed after baptism by his grandfather Rice and assisted by his father, John Petersen, and counselors Myron Benson and Jay G. Rigby. The infant daughter of. Marsha and Van Jenkins .was blessed and given the name of Melanie by her father and was assisted by Mark Benson, counselors, Myron Benson and Jay G. Rigby. The Junior Sunday School spiritual presentation under the direction of Junior Sunday School coordinator, Dody Jones, was presented by Leigh Fullmer, Darrin Anderson, Chet Loveland, Marcia Maughan and Shane Summers. Connie Goodsell of Newton and her children, Jeanine and Jason, and her sister, Tonya, and two children of Logan recently returned from a ten day vacation trip to Washington to visit their folks. Blanche Jardine was taken to the Logan hospital on Thursday where she is receiving medical treatment. We all wish her a speedy recovery. Overnight guests at the home of Mayme Griffin were her niece, Mary Ann and husband, Dr. Ray Andrus and their five children of Eugene, Ore.
