Show THURSDAY, w, President Quorum of Twelve Apostles of t h e Church of Jesus Christ of Saints delivered an inspiring sermon Friday evening to the Cache Valley Eagle Scouts, Scout sponsors and Scout leaders assembled in the Walnut Room at the University Center on the campus of Utah State University in Logan. Latter-da- y President Benson emphasized the spiritual aspects of the Boy Scouts of America. Eagle Scouts and their sponsors from Lewiston attending the annual banquet were Michael Bodily and his Bodily; son of and father, Stephen f Keith Hyer, Mr. Mrs. Cleve Hyer, and his uncle, Robert Barlow; Drew Hansen and his father, D. Vaughn Hansen; Boyd Bodily and his father, Vertis Bodily; Stanley Bodily, Boyd's brother, and his sponsor. Golden Boman; Cleve Gibbons and his father, Don Gibbons; and Steven Smith and his father, LaVar Smith. Mr. and Mrs. Clayton C. Nielsen have recently made a ten-da- y visit to Idaho, calon their children. At ling Twin Falls they were the guests of their daughter and , Mr. and Mrs. De Verl Call, and in Burley they visited Dr. and Mrs. LaMar C. Nielsen and their family. While in that area, Mr. Nielsen attended the Magic Valley Mineral and Rock Show at Twin Falls. The Nielsens grandson, Tracy Nielsen, who is at- -, tending Weber State College on a basketball scholarship, spent part of his spring vacation visiting his grandson-in-l- aw parents. His mother, Jeanne P. Nielsen, and her son Todd, came to take Tracy back to Burley for the remainder of his vacation. Mrs. Nielsen and her sons also visited Mr. and Mrs. Roland Parkinson, her parents, at Franklin. On Tuesday evening Neva Pitcher took her LDS Mutual Improvement Association class to the home of Beth and Clayton Nielsen. The girls served refreshments which they had prepared and taken with them. Mr. Nielsen showed the young women his rock shop, where they saw his beautifully polished rocks and antiques which he has collected. Former Prestonians May and Len Johnson have recently moved to western Lewiston. They spent the past weekend in Huntington, visiting her parents. Mr. and Mrs. William Van Dyke and their children of Logan were weekend visitors of the Don Van Dyke family. Kathy and Douglas Dam-ero- n and their sons of Ida In sacrament services at Smithfield 6th LDS Ward recently the sermons were given by Nancy and Keith Hammond and their daughter Liz. Dr. Hammond has dental offices in Logan. Bishop Donald Williams presented the trophies given to the Sixth Ward for their performance in basketball. The senior team won the stake championship, under the very capable coaching of Frank Condie. The Ventures won the cochampionship, and they excelled under the wise tutelage of Kendell Brough. Mary and Cyril Leding-ha- m had as guests Saturhis nephew and niece-in-laday Kenneth and Marilyn Lent of Salt Lake City. A roast-bee- f dinner was served, alter which considerable visiting was enjoyed. Ray Roskelley and Eric Ezra Taft Benson of the Wi ten-da- Logan LDS Hospital, necessitated by an automobile accident involving both of them. Smithfield hopes they are feeling much better and that they can soon go back to school. Good luck, guys! Falls spent the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Oral Layne. Marilyn Freshwater of Dugway has been visiting her father, Harold G. Wood, during the past week. Several Lewistonians attended the funeral services for Joseph Bodily on Tuesday at Fairview. The annual Lions zone banquet was held Thursday evening at the Lewiston lst-4t- h LDS Ward cultural hall. More than 200 Lions and their wives were present. Dari Schumann, recently returned from the Northern States LDS Mission, gave a sermon to report his experiences at worship ser-vicof the Lewiston Second Ward on Sunday evening. His father, Henry Schumann, also spoke briefly. Gaby Young, accompanied by Kayleen Schumann, sang es "Let There Be Peace on Earth. Mrs. Young is from Illinois, one of the church members Dari met when doing missionary work. Six of Daris also attended the services, along with many of his friends and relatives from out of town. David Jorgensen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Jorgensen, was confirmed a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-da- y Saints on Sunday, by his father. Mr. and Mrs. H. RayGib-bon- s and Mr. and Mrs. Don Gibbons, accompanied by Dr. and Mrs. Gary Gibbons of China Lake, California, enjoyed a pleasant vacation trip recently to Hawaii. They were greatly impressed, they report, with the entertainment at the LDS Polynesian Cultural Center. They also enjoyed their tour of Pearl Harbor on Oahu Island, where they spent four days. They also visited the LDS temple grounds at Laie, and on Maui they toured pineapple plantations and other points of interest. Among he interesting experiences they had on the island of Hawaii was their visit to volcanic craters, where they could see the glowing red lava inside. Upon their return to the mainland, Amy tuid Ray, a-- long with Fern and Dan, were guests of Debra and Gary and their family for a few days. Members of the Lucinda Layne Camp of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers met at the home of Ethyl Ransom on Thursday. The meeting was conducted by vicecaptain Laree Bodily.
