The event will be a finale to the summer season for the first year cooking students. Under the direction of leader, Nyla Larsen, the girls have experimented with various dishes and enjoyed a trip to the grocery store to learn food- buying tips. Officers of the club are Lori Jenkins, president; Marsha Larsen, vice president; Sheila Barker, secretary; Deborah Lish, song leader; Ann Petersen, recreation. Smithfield Third Ward By Margaret Hansen Mr. and Mrs.'H. Dale Munk of Richmond, Calif., spent a week at the home of Dale's mother, Mrs. Eva Munk. They visited with many relatives and friends and enjoyed a family party held Saturday night at the Central park in Logan. Those present in addition to the visitors were Mrs. Eva Munk, Mr. and Mrs. Glen Downs and daughters, Holly and Mrs. Bonnie Benson, Mr. and Mrs. Orlando Preece, son Michael and daughter Gay, Marie Chugg, Mr. and Mrs. Willard Hansen and son Alton, Mr. and Mrs. Chad Downs and children and Mr. and Mrs. Quinn Hale and family. Mrs. Eldes Barker of Ogden spent the weekend with her sister, Esther Littledyke. Mrs. Littledyke was also visited by her niece and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Jordan Tanner and children of Washington, D. C. Connie and Mike Paskett enjoyed a five day visit from Connies two sisters, Carol and Susan Thackery of Morgan, Ut. Diane Hunter and her baby daughter, Gretel, are staying this week at the home of her Hu-le- t, parents, Ray and Lorraine .while her husband is in Boston, Mass., on a job inter- view. Bessie and Betty Hansen are - THE CITIZEN - 9 Missions Visited H 4-- H AUG. 23, 1973 back from their trip through Washington, Oregon and Canada. They travelled with Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Schissman and family. They stayed two days at Vancouver, B.C. and two days at Victoria where they rode the ferry, visited the Hudson Bay store museum and attended a band concert. They also spent some time sightseeing in Astoria and Portland, Ore.. Saturday Bessie Hansen was visited by her grandson and family, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Schissman and daughter, Amy, of Hooper, Ut. Ted and Erma Nielson enjoyed a visit from their son, Ted, and his girlfriend, Tina, of Denver, Colo., over the weekend. MAKE Fashion Show Held A fashion show a recent Smithfield highlighted Sixth ward Relief Society homemaking day. Twenty-on- e members and children modeled lovely fashions during the show narrated by Sheryl Roper assisted by Rosemary Johnson. Marilyn Clark presented a skit and Mary Alice Williams and Faye Anderson sang School Days. Luncheon was served by chairman Sheri Godfrey assisted by Berniece Eskelson, Helen Bastian, Mary Lou Hendricks, Angie Ford and Bonnie Littledyke. back-to-scho- ol Lions Host Family Night The Smithfield Lions will host their annual Family Night tonight for club members and their families. A picnic-styl- e dinner will begin at 8 p.m., at the Lions Lodge. FROM SIMS to S4SO.OO YOUR HOME MORE LIVABLE WITH Mr. and Mrs. Vern Clark and two of their children, Brent and Sue Ann, returned last Wednesday from Oklahoma and Arkan- sas where- - they had spent a week visiting. They met their son, Scott, at the IDS mission home in Tulsa, where he had been laboring as counselor to. the mission president. He had received his release from his mission and returned home with them. The family also travelled to' Fayetteville, Ark., and stayed overnight with Mr. and Mrs. Alden Hodges of Smithfield who are on a mission in that area and attended meetings with them on Sunday. They also spent time at Independence, Mo., where. they were much impressed by the new LDS Visitors Center there. Elder Scott Clark was the speaker at sacrament meeting Sunday. Many visiting relatives and friends enjoyed, with the ward members, his report of his mission. A new High Priest group presidency was announced with Eldon Schwartz, president, and Royal Jensen and Rodney Wheeler, counselors. A new Priests Quorum presidency was also announced. Officers are Kelly Pitcher, president and Dean Egbert and Paul Pierson, counselors. A Laurel class presidency was also sustained. Lon-ett- a Loveday is the new president with Sheila Jensen and Nancy Oliverson, counselors fl Una Bergeson, secretary. Eldon Schwartz was released as first counselor in the Sunday School superintendency and sustained to that position was John D. Hansen. Rhoda Seeg-millwas released as a Sunday School teacher and LuAnn Hansen was sustained to that . David Oliverson received a certificate of graduation from Primary and a Duty to God Trail award. He was sustained to be ordained to the Aaronic Priesthood. Richard and Rhoda Seegrail-le- r and ifamily left Tuesday for Las Vegas where Mr. Seegmil-le- r wiH resume his duties as a school teacher after' a years 'leave of absence to : attend 'classes at USU. Mr. and Mrs. Roger Hansen in company with Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Hansen, spent several days last week in Yellowstone Park. Bishop and Mrs. Lynn Nelson attended the Cache School District Convention for principals and administrators which was held for three days last week at Bottle Hollow Resort on the Ute Indian Reservation.
