Show THURSDAY, Smith field First Ward AUG. 16, 1973 - THE CITIZEN 9 - Smithfield Third Ward Primary Leaders Chosen Quilt Presented By Sybil Packer lone Jesper was sustained Sunday as Smithfield Stake Primary president with Sharon Downs and Veda Hillyard as counselors. Released were De-AChambers, Wilda Taggart nn and Ellen Webb. The family of Mrs. Ella Loosle met for reunion Saturday at the Stratford Loosle home. The entire family was present with the exception of two grandchildren and a grandson-in-law. Attending were Mr. and Mrs. Eldridge Archibald of Calif., Mr. and Mrs. Clark Merrill of Palos Verdes, Calif., Mr. and Mrs. Marlin Loosle from Texas, Mr. and Mrs. Elwood Barlow of Los Altos, Calif., Mr. and Mrs.' Lyle Loosle of Provo, Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Loosle of Downey, Ida., and Mr. and Mrs. Earl Johnson, as well as Mr. and Mrs. Stratford Loosle and family. The Loosles married daughters and their families, Mr. and Mrs. Jeff (Susan) Gyllenskog, Mrs. Judy Hicken and son of Salt Lake and Mr. and Mrs. Mark (Jan) Simmons of Logan, spent the weekend with their parents. All these family mem- were present at the fare- well meeting of Lynden Loosle, who will leave soon for a mission in Switzerland. Speak- at the meeting were the missionary, his father, Jeff Gyllenskog, Mark Simmons and Judy Ann Hicken. The parents of Mrs. Stratford Loosle, Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Griffiths of Weston, Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Dewey and Mr. and Mrs. Reed Griffiths and family were present at the meeting. Mrs. Hick- . en and son will be visiting the Loosles for a few days while Mr. Hicken is away at summer camp. Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Knight mary Association held a graduation exercise for the Merri Miss girls. The following girls participated in the graduation: Shauna Lockwood, Sherri are guests at the home of Mr. Smith, Angela Selley, and Mrs. Carlile Knight. Carlile is undergoing a series of opera- Phillips, tions at the Logan Hospital. The elder Knights live in Woodland, Utah. Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Springer and three children of Heber were also weekend guests of the Knights. Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Coleman and granddaughter, Becky sen, visited with Mr. and Mrs. Sherwin Coleman of Centerville, Ut. They all enjoyed an outing at Christmas Meadows in the Uintas for three days. The First ward High Priests will hold a party, at the ward cultural hall Saturday at 6:30 p.m. All High Priests and partners and widows of High Priests are invited. President Blaine Rich released John Jasper from his position as ward clerk at First ward sacrament services Sunday. Edward Harris was sustained to the position which John had held for seven years. Marie Forrester was sustained as secretary. Chad Tillman was presented to the membership of the ward by Bishop Lindley to be advanced in the Aaronic Priesthood to the office of a Priest. Following sacrament services Sunday evening the Pri- - - - spent in Brooking with tennis tournaments, swimming and other activities that had been arranged for the young people. The highlight of their stay was the pageant, Song of Hiawatha, presented at Pipestone, Minn. The pageant included dancing and other cultural exhibits of the local Indians.
