NEWS 4-- H Smithfield Sixth Ward By Evelene Moody Kate Connally recently re17 day, 3000 mile tour which included visits to California, Mexico and her native Hawaii. Highlights of the trip included traveling through Mexico with her California hosts, Commander and Mrs. James Corby of the U.S. Navy; a five day stay in Hawaii, and a drive up the coast of California to the Sequoia Mountains. Her trip also included a visit to a California logging camp, stops in San Diego and Los Angeles, a drive through Death Valley and a visit to the St. George Temple. Scott and Susan Douglas are the parents of a baby daughter born July 20 at the Logan LDS Hospital. The Douglas' have two other children. The new baby's grandparents are Mrs. Louise Douglas and Mr. and Mrs. Jack Hampton. Visitors at the home of Mrs. Nora Richards last week were her daughter and Sandra and Jay Waller and children, Ronald and Cheryl of Santee, Calif. Joining the group for Sunday dinner were Mrs. Richard's sons and their wives, Mr. and Mrs. Max Richards and three daughters of Franklin, Ida., and Mr. and Mrs. Tedd Richards and sons of Bountiful. Ray and Aleen Facer and her brother and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. Simpson Nielsen of Hyrum attended the Mormon Miracle pageant in Manti. Visiting with their parents, Lula and Lyman Balls, were two of their daughters, Karen Schvancveldt of Logan and Elda Winward of Clifton, Ida. Delbert and Betty Pernell and 's daughters visited Mrs. mother, Mrs. Edith Poole in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, Canada and in Cardston, Alberta with his mother, Mrs. Frances Pernell and family. The Pernells enjoyed the three week trip. Dennis and Rebecca Funk, Miss Cindy Douglas, Gail and Richard Taylor and Mrs. Tony Federico accompanied 30 young people to Snow College in Ephraim for the stake youth conference. Trix and Ann Rash and daughter, Roxann, visited their daughter and her husband, Tammy and Paul Helmendollar in American Fork. They all enjoyed Timpanogas Cave, rode the Heber Creeper in Heber City and drove to Evanston, Wyo., for sightseeing. Lee and Laura McDonald and family had as their guests. Cole, Clarkston Trips And Visits By Gladys Geniel Buttars, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Verl Buttars, has returned home after working in Washington, D. C., for the past three years. She is planning to obtain work in Utah. Mrs. Elsie Buxton and daughter, Sheryl, of Elwood spent Sunday with her daughter, Mrs. Ardith Griffiths and family. a has been week with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. William Atkinson. Her mother, Mrs. Vera Tippetts, and family came to visit the Alkinsons Sunday and Faye returned to her home in Ogden with them. Mrs. Leslie Wright spent Saturday in Malad visiting with her mother, Mrs. Nellie Wakely. Lynn Wright spent the weekend in Grantsville with friends. He also attended church where his friend. Elder Ronald Brown, reported his mission to Germany. Mrs. Sue Peterson of Ogden has spent the past week visiting with her brothers and sisters and their families. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Alsop and family of Lewiston visited Sunday with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hillard Archibald. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Pearce spent the weekend in Evanston, Wvo.. visiting with his brother and family, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Pearce.
