Show 6 THE THURSDAY. CITIZEN SEPT. 21, 1972 OBITUARIES : Minnie Egon Minnie Emma Hope Egan, 90, died Sept. 13, in a Logan rest home. She wai Dorn Sept. 13, 1882, in Richmond, a daughter of William D. and Ann Smith Hope. Ida.; Mrs. Henry (Alta) Coleman, Smithfield; Mrs. Keith Lester Sant (Millie) Mathews, Providence; and Mrs. Edsel (Edith) Christensen, Pocatello. Also two sisters, Mrs. Emma Nelson. Logan and Mrs. Susie Ander-soRichmond; 38 grandchildren ; 167 great grandchildren Lester Clifford Sant, 72, of Ogden, died Sept. 18 at the McKay Dee Hospital in Ogden of a cerebral hemmorhage. He was born May 13, 1900 in Treasure ton, a son of George and Sarah Jane Clifford Sant Jr. On June 3, 1925 he married Retta Elizabeth Carver in the Logan LDS Temple. He had lived in Treasureton, Preston and Boise, and in Ogden since 1942. He was graduated from Preston high school and was a member of the Ogden LDS Third ward and was a high priest in the North Weber n, She married George Ernest Egan on June 18, 1902 in Logan. and 72 great great grandchilThe marriage was later solom-nize- d dren. in the Logan LDS Temple. Her husband preceded her in Services were at the Benson death. Stake house in Richmond Sept. Sant of Billings, Mont., Mrs. Thomas (Joy) Trozera of Del Mar, Calif., and Mrs. Douglas ( Sharon) Mathewson of Denver, Colo.; 10 grandchildren; two brothers, Milton Sant of Salt Lake City and Orson Sant of Ogden, and one sister, Mrs. Lillie Mather of Pocatello. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at the Lindquist and Sons Colonial Mortuary in Ogden, Ut. Friends may call at the mortuary Thursday prior to services. He received his education in Pocatello and resided here most of his life, working as a heavy duty equipment operator and truck driver. For 10 years he lived in Wyoming. He has been employed as a mechanic for the past several years. He lived in Grace for a short 87 automatic sebtice mp-ru- u LeGRAND BURTON This week's Preston Area Chamber of Commerce spotlight personality is LeGrand Burton, owner and manager of Burton Feed Company. Besides selling feed for all types of farm and domestic animals, he operates the Salt Lake Elevator in Preston and deals in various farm grain, both buying and selling, and is a coal dealer. Chloa Haussar Chloe Nielsen Heusser, 78, died Sept. 17, 1972, in the Preston Hospital following a short illness. She was born Oct. 26, 1893 in Weston, a daughter of Peter A. and Frances Hannah Goodsell Nielsen. She married Ray Heusser Sept. 28, 1921, in the Logan Temple. He died June 26. 1965. She worked in the Primary and MIA in the LDS Church. Surviving is a son, Glade, of Portland, Orq., and five grandchildren; two brothers and a sister, Riley of Port Angeles, Wash., Ottis of Boise, Ida., Mrs. L. W. (Nora) Merrill of Weston. One son, Blaine, died in 1970. i Funeral services were held Wednesday in the Oneida Stake Center under the direction of Bishop Richard W. Hendricks. Burial was in the Weston Cemetery. native of Garland, Ut., Mr. Burton graduated from Bear River High School and Weber College. He and his wife, the former Maurine Marble, have two children, James of Logan and Debra, who lives at home. A Mr. Burton was bishop of the Preston First ward for seven years, and is now serving on the Franklin Stake High Council. He has always been active in the LDS Church, and has been on the executive boards of the MIA and Sunday School. He is past president of Preston Lions, is a member of the Chamber of Commerce and a member of the board of the Southeastern Idaho Health District. Pinochle was played with prizes being won by Ilene Fuhriman, Marilyn Doney and Bonnie Doney. Mrs. Yvonne Marshall and sons of Franklin went to Salt Lake to the. Fair Saturday and were overnight guests of her daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Corbridge and family of Centerville. Mrs. Victor Dunkley spent a few days in Salt Lake with her daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Carlyle Hunsaker and family. Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Rose spent overnight in Pocatello with daughters, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Henderson and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Clarke and family. They took a plane from Pocatello to Moscow to visit with their son, Howard Jr. The Cowlishaws daughter Nancy stayed to attend school in Salt Lake at the University. Mr. and Mrs. Ivan H. Woodward have been grandparents twice this month. On Sept. 12, a girl was born to Mr. and Mrs. Monte Woodward of Nampa. Other grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Baugh of Sandy, Ut. On Sept. 14 a girl was born to Mr. and Mrs. Kurt Kotter of Logan. Other grandparents wel- coming this new baby are Mr. and Mrs. James Kotter of Mrs. Velda Olsen spent the weekend with her daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Ward and family in Ogden. While there she also visited with a granddaughter, Mr. and Mrs. Pat Stevenson and daughter, and also with her mother, Mrs. Florence Taylor, and a sister, Mr. and Mrs. DeLamar Palmer of Kaysville, Ut. Plates Arrive Those with yearly plates are for trucks, buses, trailers, cycles, wreckers and such. The office reported that the new plates will be issued to automobile and pickup owners in January if their license expires in January.
