The purpose of this van is for use of the firemen in their work, and precedes the fire truck to all fires. It is equipped to handle any emergency at the fire, with resuscitator, air packs, ropes, blankets, stretchers, etc. The fire department purchased this emergency van with money raised in the sale of fire extinguishers, and from donations of department members. Buzzy Balls painted it with paint donated by Motor Mercantile. County residents are cautioned that the chance of fire is very high at this time of year, and that extinguishers should be in each home, shop and barn. Fire chief, Alvaro Jones, noted that the department still has a supply of the extinguishers left, in both 2' or five pound sizes.
