Show June Man Receives MA Degree WIIITNEY June 5, Mrs. John Palmer and children and her mother, Mrs. Fonda Bodily of Whitney, and his mother, Mrs. ELmer Palmer of Preston, went to see John receive his Master's degree in Education Administration from IISU. The day before, Mrs. Palmer and other wives of graduates attended the party of P4IT, Putting Hubby Through and each wife was presented a certificate. The Palmer cbi'dren were also present for the occasion. George Fester and friend, David' Harris, of Salt Lake City came the weekend of June S and visited with his mother, Mrs. Lincoln Foster. The Linden Beckstead family went to Farmington Sunday for dinner at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Bennett. It was Mrs. Becksteads birthday ' anniversary and she was presented with gtfts. Mr. and Mrs. Glen C. Tanner enjoyed a visit with her brother and family, Mr. and Mrs. Evan Merrell of Boise. They were on their way to attend 'a Boy Scout camp at Phihnont, N. M., where Mr. Merrell is a counselor in Conservation and he and his family will be there all this week. They spent a few days with the Tanners. Mr. and Mrs. J. (L. Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence word last IMitton received week that their grandson, Alan Lewis, son of Wendell and Ruth Ann Lewis, had been chosen to attend Boys State at Carson City, Nev., for a week. The Lewises live in Las Vegas. Mrs. E. N. Allred returned to her home in Afton, Wyo., after having visited the past two months with her daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. F. II. Winward. Mrs. Gale Moser and two eldest children, Clayton and Jerri Lynn, went to Salt Lake City to attend the Junior Intermountain Fat Stock Sale at the Davis couny fair grounds, which was held June Mr. Moser brought the rest of the family down Saturday and they all enjoyed dinner in Salt Lake City. Mrs. Margaret Winward entertained at a hot buffet luncheon Wednesday evening at her home for Primary preparation meeting. It was the Mrs. Nell closing social. Brenchley of Preston, who is the Franklin Stake inservice leader, was present and was guest speaker. Mrs. Winward is the Whitney inservice leader. Mrs. Sandra Nelson of Preston gave a demonstration on preserving pictures. The long full length table was decorated with arrangements of pink ' flowers in three shades, with pink lights interwoven among them, and clusters of green grapes were arranged the full length of the table. Shirley Larsen and Corine Alder poured. There were IS present. Marie Owens gave a demonstration cf singing visual aids and Lynn Moser gave a visual aid for Guides. Mr. and Mrs. Mardell Nielsen and two sons, Scott and Brian, of Fresno, Calif., visiting them the week of June 1. They came to attend the funeral of his mother, Mrs. Lillian Christensen, that Wednesday in Salt Lake in-la- w, City. Mr. and Mrs. Leon Golight-l- y and family of Bountiful visited over Memorial weekend with his brother and family, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Go-light- Mrs. Lynn (Carolyn) Ged-de- s and baby son Dwight of Scranton, N. J., are here this week visiting her mother, Mrs. Minnie Chadwick, and other relatives. They came by plane.. Mr. and Mrs. ' Anthony Beckstead were here a week visiting with parents, Mr. and Mrs. (Lloyd Beckstead. They and their family are 'from Los Angeles. A week ago Wednesday Mr. and Mrs. Alden Sharp and daughter Natalie of Salt Lake City visited overnight with bis parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lyman J. Sharp. Last WednesWilday Mr. and Mrs. David cox and children of ' Green River, Wyo., visited with her brother and family, the Lyman J. Sharps, and they came again Saturday to visit. A week ago Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Oliverson were in Salt Lake City visiting wilh her brother and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Newbold. Mr. and Mrs. William W. Poole and children, Douglas, Arlene and Virginia, and the Arlend Poole family of Preston went to Bountiful a week ago Sunday to see the baby of the Richard daughter Knights named Carolyn by her father. Later they were dinner guests at the Knight home. The baby is Mr. and Mrs. William Pooles granddaughter.
