Show Ang. 6, 1970 THE CITIZEN I Lenard Nelson To Marry BYU Eileen Bodily Plans Marriage Student In Manti Temple Ceremony To California Man Paper Reports missionaries A newspaper article in North Carolina recently announced the assignment of LDS missionaries to the area. One of the missionaries is from Preston. The article said: Elders Craig C. Golightly of Preston and Steven Lloyd Ilofheins of Provo, Utah, have been assigned to do Mormon missionary work here in Statesville. While in Statesville they will reside on Barkley Road, Route 7, Statesville. According to Golightly, who attended Ricks College in Rexburg, Ida., the missionaries will work under the direction of the North Carolina-Virgini- a Mission in Roanoke, Va. They are two of 160 missionaries, most in their 20s, serving in North Carolina and Virginia and the eastern portion of West Virginia. The Mormon Church has over 14,000 young missionaries serving in similar capacities Gothroughout the world, lightly said. We want to share a religious message with the people and tell them about the church we represnt, added Hofheins. Our message is different from the mssage of any other Christian church." Friends and relatives of the couple are cordially invited to attend. Eileen is a graduate of North Cache high school and attended Utah State University and also the LDS Business College. Keith has filled a mission to Australia, and at the present time both are EILEEN BODILY employed in Salt Lake City, to Lenard Joseph Nelson, Ellen Marie Diggle, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph N. Diggle of Susanville, Calif. The couple has been attending Brigham Young University where they were members of the 73rd ward. Miss Diggle is a sophomore majoring in Business Education. A high school cheerleader, seminary graduate and Homecoming queen, Ellens plans are to finish her schooling and pursue a career. Lenard has attended Ricks College, Brigham Young, and has filled a mission to the Southern States. He is majoring in Aviation Management and Business. The couple is planning an August 22 wedding in the Manti Temple. They will make their home in Boise this fall. the church calls about 7,000 young men and women each year to leave their schooling or work for a period of two years, and devote their full time to the job. ' Vera Lee Winward To Marry Alabama Man In Church Rites Mr. and Mrs. LaMar Winward of Grace announce the engagement and coming marriage of their daughter, Vera Lee, to Sgt. Donald Stockard, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. D. Stockard of Lenington, Ala. Vera Lee graduated from the University of Idaho in 1969. She has been teaching Home Economics in Carson City, Nev., the past year. Sgt. Stockard is in Thailand and will be in the States Aug. 13. He will be stationed in Germany for two years and Vera Lee plans on joining him at Christmas. An August 22 wedding is being planned in the Bannock Stake cultural hail. ELLEN MARIE DIGGLE Californians Visit In Area EGYPT Mr. and Mrs, and two children of Alhambra, Calif., and Mr. and Mrs. Keith Condie of Idaho Falls and their dan ghter were here several days last week visiting with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Angus Condie and other relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Nielsen had their baby daughter blessed and named Sunday by her father. Her name is Bryn, Mr. and Mrs. Davis Jensen have their first daughter. She was born in the Logan LDS hospital Tuesday, July 28. Three brothers were at home anxious to see their new sister. Mrs. George Downing of ConnersviUe, Ind., has been in California for the past three weeks hlping out with her daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Michael Antro-buwho just had their first baby, a daughter. They live in San Bernardino. Mrs. Downing will arrive this week to visit with her mother, Mrs. Mary Keller, for a few weeks before returning to her home. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Preece of Soda Springs were Sunday callers at the Tom Petterborg home.
