The opening will again give Preston two banks, which the community hasnt had since the 3fls. At one time there were three banks in Preston which were finally merged into the First Security Banking system. Heading the list of dignitaries who will be participating in the ribbon cutting ceremony at 11 a.m. will be John D. Silva, Idaho Commissioner of Finance. Also present will be Richard Greener, assistant attorney general. Local civic leaders will include Vaughn Larsen, chairman of the board of county Glen Gamcommissioners; ble, mayor; Paul Johnson, president of the Chamber of Commerce. Bank officials will include Lawrence Jones, president; T. D. Jones, executive vice president; II. Dean Naylor, vice president and cashier; Webster C. Maughan, vice president and manager of the local office. Mr. Jones said that he has complete confidence in the future of Preston and the First Bank and Trust is happy to have an opportunity to be a part of the growth and progress of the Preston area. The new bank Is opening in a leased banking trailer facility which will be used until a new building is constructed at the corner of State Street and Oneida. Work is expected to start soon in the tearing down of the building on the corner, including the Greaves Style Shop building, to make room for the new bank. Refreshments will be served and souvenirs will be given away. The temporary quarters of the bank are located in the converted mobile trailer at the corner of First South and State Street.
