In these cases, the public is alerted to the boundaries of the areas to which the regulations apply, he added. The new regulations recently approved by Secretary of Agriculture Orville Freeman are designed to protect National Forest users against the annoying acts of thoughtless people. These controls concern sanitation within the area, public conduct, noisemaking devices (from radios n to equipment), and fire control. Regulations apply to all developed recreation sites on National Forest lands, and t! jr Roberts reported that, until the last three or four years, little need for enforcement of recreation area regulations was seen.
