Jones, son of Mr. and Mrs. Melvin L. Jones of 1771 Siesta Dr., Sandy, has graduated at Keesler AFB, Miss., from the U.S. Air Force air traffic controller course conducted by the Air Training Command . The sergeant, now qualified to direct aircraft to radar controlled landings and regulate air traffic, is being assigned to Hill AFB, Utah for duty with a unit of the Air Force Communications Service. He is a graduate of Hillcrest High School and attended Utah Technical College. The number of automotive (owners who work on their own cars) is on the rise. Of the 1,262 car owners across the country responding, 65 per cent indicate that they work on their own cars. Lack of knowledge is the most common reason given by the 35 per cent who do not work on their own cars. The mean average age if the do it yourselfer is 42 while the mean average age for the non do it yourselfer is 52. The study also shows that the do it yourselfer has a slightly lower income, comes from larger families, owns more cars and tends to be slightly more blue collar work than the non do it yourselfer. S. L. Hilton Names G. W. Oddoux General Manager Just announced is the MothersUnderstand appoint-ment- of George W. Oddoux as of the new Salt manager general Lake Hilton Hotel. The Hilton is presently under construction at 5th South and West Temple in Salt Lake City and will open in June, 1974. As general maanger of the Salt Lake Hilton, Mr. Oddoux will set up the hotels four restaurants and bakery shop and will be responsible for 350 guest rooms and the huge convention complex. World renown as a master chef and sugar sculptor, he brings to Salt Lake a new sophistication in gourmet dining. At the age of 29, Mr. Oddoux received the Solid Gold O, naming him the sixth living member of the International Order of the Golden Dozen, which is composed of the twelve world greatest living chefs. Mr. Oddoux was born in Gre- -' noble, France in 1931 and attended the University Hotel there. From apprenticeship to some of Frances greatest chefs, he traveled to Bermuda and in 1952 to Montreal where he won his first recognition as a sugar artist by creating a replica of the coronation coach of Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip. Most recently Mr. Oddoux spent eight years with the Sky Chefs, Inc., a food operating subsidiary of American Airlines.
